You may have been wondering why I haven't posted in a while and why they are so sporatic, especially with so much going on. Well, I've been pre-occupied with a number of things and unfortunately this blog ranks pretty low in the grand scheme of things, at least that's what my wife tells me.

On Friday 9/29/06 my son was brought into this world, and by the grace of God, he is perfectly healthy. He is a big lad at 9 pounds 2.5 ounces and 21.5 inches long. Mom is also doing very well.

His big brother is very excited and so far is wonderful to his baby brother.

Let's see what we can do to make this a better America for our children.

Terrell Owens Has Lost His Mind

The following is a report from Dallas-Fort Worth WFAA Channel 8.

"Police report: Terrell Owens attempted suicide

NEWS 8 EXCLUSIVE

According to a Dallas police report obtained by News 8, Dallas Cowboys star receiver Terrell Owens attempted suicide Tuesday night.

The report says Owens was depressed and reportedly took prescription pain pills. A woman companion states that she observed him putting two pills in his mouth.

According to the police narrative, the woman said the prescription of 40 pills was filled on September 18 and—until Tuesday—Owens had taken only five pills.

The police report said Owens was asked if he had taken the rest of the prescription; Owens said, "Yes."

According to the report, police also asked if he was trying to harm himself. Owens answered, "Yes."

Owens was treated at Baylor University Medical Center.

A Dallas Cowboys spokesman told News 8 the team has no comment on the police report, nor is any news conference scheduled."

I would never wish anyone dead, I would at least like to give Brian Dawkins the chance to make T.O. wish he were dead. Am I cruel for laughing at this. I guess it is official, Owens is totally screwed up in the head.

Eagles Notes = Victory

The sweet smell of victory is back in Eagles Land. Sure, we beat the Houston Texans but that team has had some pretty big upsets on opening day. Plus considering the Eagles won 2 of their last 10 games last season, it ws nice to getting started. The only thing that made yesterday truly sweet was the Cowgirls and Giants both lost. (Let the Terrell Ownes Drama begin.)

Pluses

+ TO who? TO is among the best players in the league and a threat every time he steps on the field, however Stallworth looked great, got open and made one fine diving catch. Kudos to Stallworth for getting up to speed on the playbook quickly.

+ Westbrook looked like the weapon he is, although while I want him returning punts because he is a threat every time he touchs the ball, I do not want him to take more hits than he has too. Regardless, he looked great, especially on a the touchdown drive in the 3rd quarter where he touched the ball 7 of 8 plays.

+ McNabb looks like he shaked off the cobwebs and is back to his Pro-Bowl form, even running for a first down on a third and long play. This team will go as far as he can take them.

+ The coaching staff finally realized what a few running plays can do. The ability to run play action allowed Stallworth to be wide open for the first touchdown. It also allowed misdirection plays that sprung Westbrook and Buckhalter for big runs.

Minuses

- Lito Shepard is hurt enough where he may be out this week against the Giants. That's not great considering the WR's the Giants possess.

- The defense was not nearly as dominant as they could have been. They allowed Carr a perfectly executed drive to open the game and put themselves in the whole. It took Ried benching the entire D line for the second series to wake them up. They can not come out sluggish against the Giants. Additionally, they only picked up 5 sacks against a quarterback whose middle name is "On His Back".

All in all a B+ from me and hope for this season.

Santorum is Behind This Guy?

I wonder what is going through peoples' minds when they choose Casey over Santorum. I can understand Casey's friends and family voting for him, but this guy has no ideas, no plans except raise taxes. In this morning debate on Meet the Press with Tim Russert, Casey looked amateurish at best. Santorum presented clear strategies and offered answers to the questions that were presented to him, something Casey seemed unwilling to do during the entire debate. However when Casey did try to present some semblance of ideas, they were foolhardy at best.

Let's look at some of Casey's better ideas.

1) Pull the troops out of Iraq and double the number of Special Forces. Mr. Casey, in my mind, if you double the number of Special Forces, then they are no longer all that special. There is a reason why there are number limits to the men in the Seals, Rangers, Airborne, etc. They are the best and the brightest. THEY ARE SPECIAL!!!!!

When Russert asked "(By Pulling out of Iraq) What if leave behind a haven for terrorists?"

Casey's response ". . . (Insert sounds of crickets here)" No answer, merely deflecting to questions about body armor and WMD's.

2) On Iran, Santorum authored the Freedom of Support Act and is trying to push it past the Senate. If you are not familiar with this, think of what Reagan did in Poland.

Casey's plan, do everything possible. Like what, more rhetoric? Again, no clear ideas. Merely banter trying to get Santorum to denounce Cheney for not supporting sanctions over a decade ago. Santorum said he disagreed with him, Casey wants him to denounce Cheney. Let's look at the difference per www.merriamwebster.com:

Denounce - to pronounce especially publicly to be blameworthy or evil

Disagree - to differ in opinion

Santorum has to work with Cheney, I am glad he saw through this semantic ambush by Casey.

3) The budget and social security. I put these two together because Casey's plan is basically the same; Raise Taxes. I will admit, I like how Casey uses the English Language. He calls a tax raise, savings for the government. But let's look at what is really is, Socialist Income Distribution. When asked, he would not claim to cut a single program, or be as he said "more fiscally responsible" except to raise taxes on people making more than $200,000 and increasing the death tax. Then he claims to want to save social security by growing the economy. Well, how can the economy grow, if you pull money out of it by increasing taxes.

Then Casey goes on to blame the republicans for the "Problem" social security. Per Casey, its not a crisis, it is a problem. (There's the semantics again.) Maybe it is not a crisis for you Mr. Casey, but it is for me. I'm 31 and wonder where the money I put into the fund will be. I digress, he blames the republicans because there was no social security problem in the 90's. Russert rightly put him into his place by stating the 40 million baby boomers were not set to retire in the 90's. No answer from Casey.

From the Casey website, "On Meet the Press debate this morning, Bob Casey sat side-by-side with Rick Santorum and Bob Casey showed that he has the new ideas and new direction to win in November." This was obviously written before the debate occurred.

Casey is out of touch and has no clue what so ever. I can see why Casey picked this weekend for the debate, he hoped most people on the east side of the state would be down the shore and people in the rest of the state would be doing other things during the holiday weekend. There is a reason why he has lost 3 election bids in the last 6 years. Wake up people of PA, Casey is bad for the state and worse for the country.

Crime in Philly. . . Raj's Solutions

Two nights ago, there were 8 shootings in Philadelphia that resulted in 3 deaths. Granted if you geographically look at the crimes in the city, they are centered in specific areas. But those areas are quickly expanding and growing like kudzu, choking and destroying anything in its grasp.

Last night was an interesting night for me. I attended a Rally for Raj held at Cannstadters in Northeast Philly, where the primary focus was on crime and what Raj's plan is to help stop the influx of crime in the Northeast. I also read an article in the Northeast Breeze about what Alyson Schwartz, the D incumbent is (more like is not) doing about crime.

Any Philadelphian knows, John Street hates the Northeast. His disdain is obvious as revenge for the total lack of support this section gave him in both elections. Even the largely D Union strongholds went so strongly for Katz, it created a thorn in his side. So he and fellow D Schwartz continue to ill-represent their constituents in the Northeast in regards to the rise in crime.

Case in point, Schwartz secured a grant of nearly $220,000 for crime fighting measures. What does she do, not add patrols, not enlarge prisons, not even reform programs to keep convicted criminals off the streets. She added 2 Federal prosecutors and 1 Gun Crime Specialist to Philadelphia Police. Sure, they'll be able to devote more man hours to the judicial system, but the problem is, there are not enough police to catch the criminals in the first place, and if they are caught, they are allowed to continue walking the streets because the prisons are at capacity. Thanks for nothing Schwartz. Typical D move, all flair no substance.

What can a congressman do about crime in their district? Raj has a solid plan that will help.

1) End Section 8 Housing. Section 8 is a abomination on American Society. It creates absentee landlords just looking for a buck, perpetuates the lack of homeownership and lack of neighborhood pride, and increases crime. Section 8 needs to go away and Raj promised that he would never vote in favor of a Section 8 funding bill.

2) Utilize homeland security funds to fight crime at home. "What good is it to fight a war and secure a country in the Middle East, when we are not secure on our own streets." Valid point, and while Raj supports the troops and actions in Afghanistan and Iraq, we need help here.

3) Work to end the bickering in Congress that stops critical legislation and strengthens the enemy. Republican or D, we are all Americans.

CB Kimmons, a community activist, and Greg Bucceroni, of the Guardian Angels, also spoke. They reiterated the need for a change in the city and that the current city administration and representation in Congress are not getting it done. Bucceroni went so far as to say that during the last election, he supported and voted for Schwartz. After her election, he was insignificant because he is from Frankford. Bucceroni, a native New Yorker, went so far as to say the Raj reminds him of Rudy Giullani before he was elected mayor. Those are strong words and strong praise to be compared to Giuliani.

Bucceroni also said it best, "I am a registered Democrat, and I voted for Alyson Schwartz, but come election day, I'll be voting for Raj."

A Little Game

Fallout From Lieberman Loss

Is there political fallout from the Lieberman loss? Absolutely yes!

Lieberman was an old generation democrat, and I respected him. We did not agree on everything, but the man had conviction and I believed that when he was in the Senate Chambers, he was truly voting for what he felt was right, not his party line. Why did he lose? Because his opponent bashed Bush and is against the war on terror. Lieberman says he will run as an independent. I hope he does, and wins!

“But Lieberman, undaunted, vowed to run as an independent against fellow Democrat Ned Lamont. "For the sake of our state, our country and my party, I cannot and will not let that result stand," he said of Tuesday's Democratic primary results.”

Democrats better wake up to see what is happing to their party. It is not the party of the working class anymore, it has turned into a group of far leftists. What happened to the Democratic Party of my parent’s generation? Men, with whom even if you disagreed, you respected. JFK and Harry Truman are distant memories and poster boys for today’s democrat. JFK said, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country.” Great words that should ring true for all Americans regardless of their place on the political spectrum, except for the liberals today. They take, and beat down and disgrace this great nation. What you have is a group of 60’s radicals, hell bent on converting this representative democracy into a socialist state. They have polarize the young people and filled their heads with the utopian pipe dreams of their former generation and are using the war in Iraq as kindling for the bonfire they will use to consume this great country. Entitlements will increase, taxes will go up, border security will be near non-existent and we will retreat in the war on terror.

The Republicans better wake up to the fact that winning is November will not be easy. The base must be polarized to get out and vote, and with less than 100 days to go I am not seeing that.

Mark my words, if the democrats win both houses of congress, and then win the residency in ’08 it will be the beginning of the Dark Ages of American History.

Phillies Phire Sale

The Phillies are officially sellers as the trade deadline approaches. If your last name is not Utley, Howard, Hamels, or Madsen, you are tradeable. Let me reiterate that, you are dumpable. See, the Phils did not get anything but a couple of minor league prospects for their trades. They could have gotten a case of batting practice balls and it would have been the same.

I am not thrilled with the trades, I am not angered, but my decision will come with the team that takes the field next season. In dropping Abreu, Lidle, Bell and Cormier, and with the ending of contracts at the end of this season, the Phillies payroll will be $43 million less than this year. Does Gillick take that money and get top free agent pitchers, a great 3rd baseman and great catcher? Or does this awful ownership group take that money and put it in their own back pockets, screwing the fans yet again?

The benefits of these trades may not be seen for years, but if Gillick is given the ability to follow his model of building a team, this could be the beginning of great things to come. He did this in Toronto, and within a few years, they won 2 World Series. He traded Griffey Jr. and let A-Rod go, and the following season the Mariners won 116 games. Gillick knows what he is doing, the question will be whether or not the ownership lets him do his job.

Street Finally Addresses the Real Threat in Philly

The murder rate in Philly is on record pace. Crime is rampant in the worse neighborhoods in the City. The budget is trashed, there are not enough police officers, the paramedic units are under-funded and under-staffed, and the is a pariah in the city that our illustrious Mayor Street will tackle head on, The Boy Scouts of America.

Yes friends, John Street is attacking the beloved Boy Scouts and threatening to kick them out of the city. Why, because they do not allow openly gay individuals. Neither does the military, but I don't see him trying to kick out the Armory or the Navy Depot on Tabor Road. Does John think this is a good thing? Why attack an organization whose goal it is to get boys off the street and better their lives?

Deflection is the only thing I can think of. He has no solution for the troubles on the streets so he creates a radical agenda for people to freak out and not think about the real troubles. Kind of like Clinton bombing Kosovo to deflect away from Monica Lewinsky. I'm not the only on who thinks this is nuts.

"This is probably the most ridiculous political action taken this year by any politician in America," said Raj Peter Bhakta, who is running for Congress in Northeast Philadelphia and Montgomery County. "While the city suffers its worst quality of life crisis in recent memory, John Street seeks to push a radical agenda rather than face the real problems."

"The streets of Philadelphia are unsafe," said Raj. "So Mayor Street chooses to go after the one organization that has done so much to improve the lives of thousands of children in this region."

Raj said he was particularly shocked that Street would take on a group that has done so much to help so many young people steer clear of criminal activity. The Boy Scouts Cradle of Liberty Council, which serves 87,000 scouts in Philadelphia, Montgomery County and Delaware County, has kept its headquarters on public grounds near Logan circle since 1928. In a more sane time, the City Council promised that the Boy Scouts may remain there with no rent charged "in perpetuity."

What's more, Street now thinks he knows more than the Supreme Court. In 2000, the Court Ruled that applying a state public accommodations law to require the Boy Scouts to admit a gay troop leader violates the groupÂs constitutional right of expressive association. Remember, it was a fairly liberal Court in 2000 that ruled this way.

Please, support Raj for Congress and help get some level of sanity back to the city. "If crime and drugs persist in our neighborhoods, only God knows who the city will target next," said Raj. "Perhaps the Salvation Army."

What Has Happened to Sanity?

A lot has happened in the past week, but more than anything else, I wonder where the sanity in this world has gone.

1) George Bush said "Shit". Well, he was right. Syria needs to step up and take care of this shit. It is shit that Hezbollah has created a state within a state in Lebanon, and good for Israel for finally standing up to them.

2) Good for Israel! They did not forget what happened to their people over 60 years ago. It is amazing that countries like France and Russia forget what happens when you appease a regime that can not be appeased. Giving into terrorists does not work. Israel has made numerous appeasments in the quest for peace, and what happens, the Islamo-Facists want more and give up nothing. In Gaza, the Palestinians tunneled under the border and attacked a border crossing. Hezbollah launches missiles arbitrarily into the night and kill children, without regard. It's time that the Israeli citizens should be able to live in peace, and not have to sleep in bomb shelters for fear that a rocket will hit their home at night. I can not fathom what they go through night after night, but my prayers and sympathies are with them. Screw Russia, Screw France and Screw the UN.

3) Bush finally uses his veto power, on something that can truly help the citizens of this country. I am not in agreement with his decision to veto the ability of the National Science Foundation to fund stem cell research on embryos, the size of a period at the end of this sentence, that are going to be thrown out anyway. I respect his reasoning, but wholly disagree with his judgment. It's not like we are taking cells from aborted 3rd term babies. These are from fertility clinics from parents who are trying everything possible to have a child. Is it better to keep the embryo in a frozen state, or put it in a landfill?

Sometimes, I wonder why I have brought my children into this world.

Reaction to Biden

"These ridiculous, callous and insensitive comments would simply be laughable if they weren't coming from a Democratic presidential candidate," said Congressional Candidate Raj Peter Bhakta. "You'd never know from listening to Biden that Indian Americans have contributed to this country other than making a mean cup of coffee."

But don't look to the mainstream media to cover Biden's outrageous remark. It's been up to regular Americans; talk radio and blogs to inform the people.

This is not the first time the mainstream media has covered up for Democrats. Raj pointed out that in 2004, Senator John Kerry referred to Sikhs as terrorists and Senator Hillary Clinton jokingly referred to Mahatma Gandhi as a gas station owner.

In response to Senator Biden's callous remarks, the Raj for Congress campaign is asking you for $7.11.

Giles has no Clue

On a day when Ryan Howard give the Phillies fans a reason to cheer by winning the Home Run Derby, Bill Giles give the fans a reason to sulk.

Bill Giles, among the stronger more vocal owners of the Philadelphia Phillies, has absolutely no clue when it comes to the fans of this city. In a recent interview that can be found on Philly.com Giles sounds off on the fans of the city and Brett Myers, the wife beating coward.

Q: What did you hear (about the Brett Myers incident)?

A: I don't know that I'm privileged to say. I'm not the spokesman for the Phillies. I do know what really happened was a lot less than what the public thinks happened and that's the sad part because some bystander saw something that really didn't happen. Brett was trying to help his wife.

Q: What do you mean?

A: "I can't say. I just don't know what Dave wants me to say."

Q: But witnesses saw it.

A: One of our employees [marketing manager Debbie Nocito] saw the whole thing. She said, "He did not hit her at all, and he didn't grab her hair or anything." So all the reports were untrue, from what I understand.

So the police reports, 10 calls to 911, and accounts from two men who felt they needed to intervene, a letter from Myers being sorry that he got caught, and he believes one person who works for the organization. What a load of crap. If Myers is so innocent, then why is he attending sensitivity training and on a 2 week hiatus from the team.

Q: Larry Bowa and Billy Wagner spoke out recently saying the nucleus needs to be broken up after not winning under three managers.

A: "Despite what people think, our ownership group, particularly me, is in this business to win games. We're not doing very well this year and we haven't gotten to the postseason since 1993, so there's going to be a lot that's going to be tried to be done and there's going to be a lot of effort being made by Gillick and his team of people to get us back to where we want to be, and we're not there now. That's pretty obvious."

Q: Are you troubled by the accusations that the ownership group doesn't care about winning?

A: I've been concerned about it forever, because all they [owners] care about is winning. Our ownership group is not in the game to make money. They're in it not to lose money, but we put an awful lot of money in the last few years - $200 million for the ballpark, $95 million the last two or three years in the payroll.

Hey Giles, in the 23 years your ownership group has owned the team, you have gotten to the Post Season twice. Once in '83 on the coat tails of the Carpenter Family, and the year lightning struck in '93. 24 years of crap. Let's look at the amazing players that has passed through our city in those 26 years:

Jose Dejesus
Tony Longmire
Steve Jeltz
Omar Daal & Travis Lee - Pieces of the Curt Schilling trade. Curt goes on to win a World Series with Arizona and became SI's Sportsman of the year. We get a stiff pitcher and a heartless 1st baseman.

What else could possibly make fans think this ownership group is in it to win. Certainly not the sub .500 record in 20 out of the last 25 seasons. Certainly would not be letting fan choice Larry Bowa go and bowing to the wants of heartless crybabies in the dugout, and then hiring Charlie Manuel instead of Jim Leyland (the Tigers are currently in 1st place in their division, 30 games over .500). Giles has no clue about the fans, if he did he would not have said:

Q: Does it matter to you that the public is so down on this team?

A: I don't know that that's true. Too many people believe the talk shows are the pulse of the public, and I don't happen to believe that at all. There are crazy people that call in and the announcers create a perception, but I don't believe it. I just don't think the public... I know so many people that are dyed-in-the-wool Phillies fans who love the team - win, lose or draw.

We don't have to listen to talk radio, we know for a fact this team sucks. 12 games out of 1st, 7 games under .500, at the halfway point in the season, the manager is talking about the Wild Card, not about winning the division. If there is one think Phillies fans know about it is losing considering they are the lossingest franchise in sports history.

My grandfather is 85 years old and as my friends will tell you, he loves baseball. Which is why right now can't watch the Phillies. I want nothing more than to take him down to the park and see a game, but what's the point, they'll lose and we'll leave pissed off and I'll have blown $100 between tickets and food. I hope the Phils turn it around, I want to cheer and rout and have an interest in watching October Baseball. I want the thrill of a World Series victory and the outpouring of emotion at a parade. I want to like the team that is on the field, and they have a chance with the likes of Utley, Howard, Rowand and Hamels. But there are players on this team that suck the life out you like parasites. Giles is right about one thing, there are dyed-in-the-wool Phillies fans, and we love our team, and can not stand, nor ever forgive what the ownership has done to this team.

Support Raj for Congress

Go to Allyson Schwartz's Official website and read her biography. Then go to Raj Bhakta's Official website and read his biography. Notice a difference? I did right away, and it is among the many reasons why I am giving my support to Raj Peter Bhakta in the 13th U.S. Congressional District Election.

Raj was born in and grew up in this district. Born in the Frankford area of the city and later moving to Blue Bell, he has ties in this community from childhood and will work for the betterment of this area of S.E. PA.

There are 2 key areas of this campaign for me, and I know Raj and I see eye to eye. I can tell you by her voting record; Ms. Schwartz's policies are polar opposite to the needed legislation to continue the growth and security of America.

1) Raj is an entrepreneur, among those who make up the largest part of the US economy. Because of the tax reform under George Bush, one of the things he did right, entrepreneurs could invest and risk, and if successful, grow under a lower burden of taxes. Unemployment is low, at last count 5million jobs created after the first tax cut. Government revenues have increased and economy is continuing to grow and inflation is in check. Schwartz voted against the extension of the Bush tax cut and against reductions in the gas tax. She went voted against the interests of the National Taxpayers Union 90% of the time and against Americans for Tax Reform 96% of the time, & The Commonwealth Foundation of PA gave Schwartz a grade of F+. Evidenced here is typical of liberals who do not believe that American citizens are entitled to their hard earned money. Quite simply, Raj states, “I will make sure that the tax relief that passed in 2001 and 2003 will be made permanent. Pennsylvania's families are already overtaxed and can't afford a tax hike. I will not vote to raise your taxes. Period.”

2) National Security encompasses a number of areas, including supporting the brave men and women in uniform, fighting terrorism and real border and immigration reform. Schwartz voted against the House Bill “Declaring that the United States will prevail in the Global War on Terror, the struggle to protect freedom from the terrorist adversary” and against the recent immigration reform and border security plans. Although, she does agree with those organizations who would work against the sovereignty of the United States in their support for items such as the Kyoto Protocol and the International Criminal Court. Citizens for Global Solutions gave Allyson Schwartz an A+ on her voting record.

Raj will show his support by not cutting funding to the brave men and women in uniform and supporting veterans. An issue dear to me, he will be vote to make sure first responders have the funds necessary to do their jobs effectively, even while Street works to cut funding and risk our citizen's lives. Raj is a first generation born American. Even as his parents are both immigrants to this country, he knows the need to secure our borders and ensure that new future citizens come to our country through the proper channels, not arbitrarily across a porous border.

In case you are still looking, Schwartz was born in New York and did not come to this area until she started her Master's Degree and Bryn Mawr College.

I had the opportunity to meet Raj and shake his hand at the Lawncrest 4th of July Parade. A parade he was excluded from because of Schwartz's presence. While he was beating the street, I saw a man with drive, but I had the opportunity to look into his eyes, and saw a genuineness of a man that truly wants to do good for the community where he was born and lives. For all these reasons, I fully endorse and support Raj Peter Bhakta for his election to 13th U.S. Congressional District.

Sorry there has not been a post in a while. I am alive, my family is well, in fact my wife is pregnant with our second child. Between taking work home, a second job and getting things fixed up for the impending child, I've been swamped and something had to give. Wise Words from a Liberal

Every once in a while, a Liberal will say something so wise, so profound that it will support the conservative agenda. Let me say thanks to Joel Stein of the LA Times for his commentary Warriors and Wusses.

You have every right not to support the war, even though I don't agree with you, that's your right. Fortunately, there are brave men and women fighting against worldwide Sharia so you can have your opinion. Joel though tells it like it is, "But I'm not for the war. And being against the war and saying you support the troops is one of the wussiest positions the pacifists have ever taken and they're wussy by definition."

Honoring MLK

It was great to see the Democrats getting together yesterday and honoring the memory of and American Icon. A man who said such promising words as:

"Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood."

"Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred. We must ever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force. "

"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed. We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal."

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

Great words from a great man. Sure, he is not without his faults, but few if any of the men we study in our great history are perfect. If King were alive today, what would he say, what we he feel about the current representatives of the civil rights movement.

Seeing the state of the nation today would probably make him cry. King's children are judged by the color of their skin not character. With government programs that promote minorities based on the color of their skin, not the character, hard work or education.

When you have Sharpton throwing a simple question and her response is that republicans are running the House of Representatives like a Plantation? What does that mean. As of the writing of this there is still no explanation coming from Camp Clinton. In the most anti-MLK fashion, she and other democrats continue to divide, not unite.

And she dares to call the Bush Administration Corrupt. Al Gore dares to call this President a criminal. Clinton's record is a disgrace. Stealing from the White House, illegally requesting FBI records on citizens, selling Presidential Pardons to the highest bidder, perjury; Let's talk about corruption.

When Jesse Jackson is being investigated for frauding the Rainbow Coalition, 1.2 Million Dollars being unaccounted for. A man who continually divides the nation.

And do I have to mention Farrahkan? We could argue that he is among the most bigoted, hateful persons in the black civil rights movement.

Then there's Mayor Ray Nagin of New Orleans, who basically said the Hurricans that hit the Gulf are God's revenge on the Bush Administration. Never mind that his city is known as a cesspool of depravity. For 4 days every year, New Orleans is transformed to Sodom and Gomorrah, but that's fine in the eyes of God. I am not saying that God is taking revenge, but if you wanted to go down that road, you could point to a number things besides the current administration.

Then, Mr. Nagin says he wants to build New Orleans as a "Chocolate City". Truly MLK would be thrilled to know that his own people wish to segregate.

It's nice to see that the spirit of MLK lives on in today's civil rights leaders.

Merry Christmas

Soometimes, we forget what Christmas truly is, and I will admit I am guilty of that this year. This last month has been incredibly hectic with 2 jobs, a paper and final exam for my finance class and I decided to try some woodworking and build my son a table for his Thomas the Tank Engine Trains. This is taking up way more time than I ever thought it would. I'm to the point where I wished I would have bought on, but the one I am building is 6.5 ft by 3 ft, more than double the size of any one that I could find. I can not wait to see the look on his face when he takes the cover off that table.

The magic my son sees is what is keeping me going. Thank God I have of 12/26 so I can sleep until 12:00.

I all that combined, I have been unable to devote as much time to the blog as I would like this last month. I want to thank all of the regulars who stop by and say "What's up?"

Criminals' Rights

Didn't you know that criminals have more rights, even special rights than the typical hard working honest person, and particularly victims? There are two big news stories today that evidence the stupidity and arrogance of the left against the rest of society.

I am sure you are all familiar with the concept of the Drug Free School Zone. Penalties are more harsh if you are convicted of a drug crime in a school zone. The City of Camden, the most violent city in the country, is contemplating decreasing the size of the area stating that it is discriminatory against certain inner city groups because of the high ratio of schools to housing. Instead of decreasing the size why not increase the size to a Drug Free City, that way you can lock these bastards up forever. But that might be discriminatory against city dwellers, so I have a solution, if you are convicted of dealing, you are sent away for life. Maybe that would work. Then again, that would be discriminating against the dealers.

An Tookie Williams is about to be removed from the face of the earth. This waste of flesh couldn't life with the fact that his own life was a mess, he had to take four innocent people from the face of this earth and ruin their families too. I strongly believe that the appeal system for death row inmates is too lenient. These crimes happened 26 years ago and memories fade, but human excrement like Tookie and Mumia Abu Jamal are diefied by the left and the media. People like them are only reformed because they were caught, and in fact neither has completely redeemed themselves since a the main point of redemption is admitting guilt. So he wrote a few books, if anyone I knows buys one of his books for their kids I will personally take the book and smack them. If you have forgotten what Tookie did check out

Air Marshalls Kill Suspected Terrorist

The biggest story in the news yesterday was the revelation that US Federal Air Marshalls shot a man who claimed to have a bomb. I am already starting to see the spin from the do-gooders on the left.

He was a US Citizen.
He had Bi-Polar Disorder and wasn't taking his drugs.
He was not in his right mind at the time.

The blame game has begun and I am sure the wife is going to sue, and will probably have an ACLU attorney. So let's see what the future would be like if she wins.

Deranged Passenger: AHHHHHHHHHH I can't take it any more!
Air Marshall: Sir, please calm down.
Deranged Passenger: No, I am going to take everyone out.
Air Marshall: Sir, do you have any of the following illnesses, Bi-Poplar Disorder, Depression, Schizophrenia or any other illness in which you can not be legally responsible for your actions? If so, has a doctor prescribed you medication? If so, what is the medication taking your medicine as prescribed?
Deranged Passenger: I don't know, I have a bomb and am going to take everyone out!
Air Marshall: Sir please answer my questions so I may determine the proper course of action.
Deranged Passenger: Sure, I am depressed.
Air Marshall: OK sir, carry on.

BOOM!!!!!

The deranged passsenger in the skit above was an Al Qaida terrorist manipulating the fact that US Law Enforcemnet of any kind is handcuffed by the left minded in this country who care more about the rights of one singular individual than the rights of everyone else.

The news reports interviewed passengers and they said they were a little shaken, but everyone, including the Air Marshalls handled everything very well. I say good job men, I hope one of you is on my next flight. You probably will not get any accomodation for what you did, but you deserve it. Thank you for protecting me and my country.

Save a Life Today

This post is not politically motivated in any way. One could argue the fact that John Street may be the worst Mayor in Philadelphia history. He is corrupt, arrogant, racist, and generally really poor at his job. Murderer is not there yet, but that could change if he passes the plan to cut 4 of the 40 Ambulance (Advanced Life Support ALS) Units from the Philadelphia Fire Department. The basic life support units, the firefighters, can administer CPR and use a defibrillator, however, only the ALS units can administer advanced medical care including the administration of drugs.

If you know me you know that I have nothing but the utmost respect for the brave men and women who serve this country, whether military, police, fire, or ambulatory. They put their lives on the line every moment of their job, and for that I thank them, and that part of my motivation behind this. Secondly, I live in Philadelphia and know it is a great city. With the amount of new construction and many respected groups calling Philadelphia America's next Boom City, I am proud to call it home. I want to continue to live here with the knowledge that if my life, or the life of a family member where on the line, there would be someone available to assist.

Now, the numbers. Philadelphia currently has 40 ALS units 1 is permanently stationed at the Philadelphia International Airport. Those 39 Units could be sent anywhere in the city of the need calls. Also, keep in mind that 12 of the units are out of commission between midnight and 6:00 am leaving only 28 units. If one unit is busy, they will send another unit. Makes sense right? Until you look at the statistics.

If your heart stops beating, you are generally, completely brain dead after 4 minutes, after 1 minute brain damage can occur. So if your nearest medic team is busy, they will send the next closest available unit. Since Philadelphia is short units already, let’s see what happens. There was a cardiac arrest on 54th, but since their nearest unit was busy, the Academy and Frankford Medic was dispatched. By Mapquest that is 16 miles taking 26 minutes. Another example, there was a car accident Academy and Frankford over the holiday weekend. Their medic team was already busy, so the Medic Unit in South Philly was sent. 17 miles, 21 minutes by Mapquest. Get the idea. Such occurrences happen every day, yet they are not reported. Why does the media not latch on to this issue? Not to bash the medic units or the fire fighters, they are spread why too thin.

Three national firms came in and studied the situation in the city. All three said that the city should operate 90 units, but could get by with a minimum of 60 units. Now the city wants to cut 4 more.

Sure people abuse the system. There also needs to be a way for the Medic Units to determine a true emergency from someone who would rather go to the hospital than got to Rite Aid and spring the 3 bucks for a bottle of Children's Tylenol. Your kid has a fever, give them some Tylenol and call the doctor. Unless we are talking about 105 degree fever, you don't need to go to the hospital.

What can you do about it? If you live or work in Philadelphia, call your city council person or Mayor Street's office. The numbers are listed at the end of this post for your convenience.

When you call them, don't just ask the question, "Are you in favor of cutting ambulatory services in Philadelphia?" What person in their right mind would say yes? Ask them, "What are you going to do to prevent the cutting of the medic units and build them up to the number recommended by 3 national firms." Also, ask why Philadelphia does not have a contract in place with private ambulance company and local counties to assist when busy. I live about a mile from 2 medic units in Montgomery County and 3 blocks from a privately owned Ambulance company. There are nearly 100 privately owned ambulance companies in the Philadelphia Area (New Jersey not included), yet the city does not have a contract in place to ask them to assist when it would be prudent. We are the only major city to not have that contract in place. You need to ask your council person why that is the case.

Visit Save the PFD. There you can read the latest news, send e-mails to the Mayor and Fire Commissioner and sign a petition to wake up this city's government.

I hope you are as outraged as I am. Please if you are a blogger in the Philadelphia Area, link this post, or paste it in its entirety. Regardless of our political beliefs, this is one area where we all must come to a common agreement. This is about your life, your spouse, children, friends and all loved ones who live or work in Philadelphia.

I am thankful that I have a job I truly enjoy, a wonderful family, a beautiful wife and the best son I could ever have imagined.

I am thankful that we have the bravest, strongest and most dedicated military that has ever walked the earth, regardless of what the America hating leftist media says.

I am thankful that I live on the best nation on earth. A nation that rewards hard work and sacrifice. A little risk can reap huge rewards and success. A nation in which the meagerest parent could have a most successful child. A country in which laziness and negativism are denigrated and abhorred. Wait, that's what America once was, but can be again.

Liberal - Ease

I believe Winston Churchill is credited with the phrase, "If you are under 35 and a conservative, you have no heart; if you are over 35 and a liberal, you have no brain."

That quote makes me wonder what it is about the policies of these two groups that would make Churchill say this? I am only 30 and don't consider myself heartless. Why am I a conservative and what is it to be conservative? In my research on this, I came up with a hypothesis that it is easy to be liberal, and being a true conservative forces you to make difficult decisions which may create the label of heartless.

Liberals love to tout themselves as free, and indeed, MerriamWebster.com states the word Liberal is from Latin liberalis suitable for a freeman, generous, from liber free. However, another definition of liberal is lacking moral restraint. It also defines liberalism as a belief in progress, the essential goodness of the human race, and the autonomy of the individual and standing for the protection of political and civil liberties.

The term conservative is defined as tending or disposed to maintain existing views, conditions, or institutions, and conservativism as a political philosophy based on tradition and social stability, stressing established institutions, and preferring gradual development to abrupt change.

Now that the terms are defined, let's break them down, liberals are free and generous, but maybe too much so. Since the political structure has changed so much in the last 70 years, many conservatives want an abrupt change to what it once was in regards to the limitations of government. Many liberals are perfectly happy with the establishment and want to continue the history of entitlements. These definitions only somewhat fit.

Let's next examine the history of the two political ideologies. Liberal philosophy is responsible for the American Revolution. It was the philosophy of change that caused the 55 brave men to sign their lives away. Indeed, the most staunch conservatives wanted to maintain the status quo with British rule. What about today though? It is the conservatives who are seen as revolutionaries trying to revert policies to back to those philosophies of those brave men. While liberals get their ideologies from John Stuart Mill, William Gladstone and Karl Marx, the policies of conservative are rooted in the teachings of Thomas Jefferson, John Locke and Thomas Paine. Why the change when these men were considered liberals in their times?

It has everything to do with the limitations on government control. Jimmy Carter said, "Government is a contrivance of human wisdom to provide for human wants. People have the right to expect that these wants will be provided for by this wisdom." This displays the idea of socialism, that the government should provide all the wants and needs of the citizens. That is not the way of the founders. That would create a huge government and a high tax burden. Thomas Jefferson stated, "My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government."

In examining Liberal policies today, we see ideas like protecting the environment, nationalized healthcare, & helping the poor. On the surface, these are all noble causes, and all men should work towards these goals. Liberals don't look beyond the tip of their noses though and see the consequences of such actions. The environment can handle levels of pollution. Look at a volcanic eruption, there is more crap in ash then in factory exhaust. We're still here! But by forcing companies or governments to reach unattainable levels of pollution control, the costs of products get pushed higher, or jobs get cut to reduce other costs to comply.

National healthcare is a great idea, except for the fact that it has failed in 7 other countries, and reduces the quality of care of everyone. Sure helping the poor is great, but at what cost and how much. I have no problem helping out when someone is down and out, it can happen to anyone, but the fact the people make careers out of walking to their mailbox is ridiculous.

It cracks me up when people like Barbara Striesand tell people to help the poor and do this and that with their money. Because of policies she supports I have enough trouble paying my bills and putting food on the table. When she liquidates all her assets, gives her royalties over tot he poor and lives off $40,000 then I'll consider what she says. Until that time, she and her liberal friends can suck my toe!

I'm a conservative because I believe government needs to be small, and provide only those items which private companies will not engage. Roads, defense, emergency services, education. There may be a few others (I include sealing the Border in defense) but these are the biggies. I'm sick of the government telling how I can live, where I can live, where and when I can go anywhere. I am sick of them wasting my tax dollars like they have a bottomless pit of money. I am sick of them wasting time on items households should regulate. Congressmen are so worried about internet gambling, but if they allowed gambling, it could be regulated and people penalized for violations. Plus, the revenues could be taxed.

It is tough to be a conservative and say no. Let's face facts saying no to endangered owls, sick kids and poor people absolutely makes us look heartless. But someone has to keep the big spenders in check, unfortunately, there is no one in the Capitol today who does.

Linguistic Dung

In a movement to ease the minds of children, schools in LA are no longer failing their students. They will use a new terminology, "deferred success". Isn't that nice, let's not tell students the truth, we'll make them go through school, thinking they actually have a few brain cells. Naturally, they'll go through a liberal college, on scholarship no less, but what happens in the real world. They suck at their jobs, get fired and realize they are better suited for flipping burgers. They will be the most educated fry cooks at McDonalds.

The whole idea of deferred success is ridiculous. Until when will their success be deferred; next month, next year, death? The idea of deferred is that something is put of to a later time. If kids don't know they are failing, then how are they ever going to know they need to improve. Fact is these kids never will improve.

This is just the perpetuation of liberal socialism. Everyone is on the same footing, eliminate hard work and competition.

I think it is funny that most liberals support Darwin when it suits them, but forget quite possibly the most integral part of his natural selection theories, Survival of the fittest. Do they believe that they truly are giving the students everything they need to survive. Are they the fittest?

I'm not talking about fit like a lion, an lion can't hold down a job. For human survival, you need to have a skill and eductation. The strongest among the species are the most educated or the most skilled. If these kids success is deferred, I would wonder when the will acheive success.

As a parent, I would want to know my kid was failing so I could do what was necessary top get him on the right track. Not continue indefinitely with the idea that my kid is fine, kumbaya and all that crap.

"Secret Military Funding get Little Oversight"

No really, what's the news here. If there was so much oversight, then it wouldn't be secret, would it. Who in the government is wasting time and resources on this, the Democrats, trying to find every little thing they can to pin on Republics. Fact is, secret military spending has been going on since before World War Two. Imagine if there was a oversight committee for the Manhattan Project. Information could have gotten into the wrong hands, if Japan knew what we were doing they may have changed tactics. Or worse, they would have cut funding.

I have no problem with military spending, but what I do have a problem with is there is not oversight committee for Congressional spending. I'ld rather have a next generation stealth fighter than a few trees planted along a highway.

"Rioters in France Disobey State of Emergency & Curfew"

Duh! So the list of counts against these hooligans is growing: Civil Disobedience, Arson, Murder, Looting, Theft, Assault, Inciting a Riot, etc. Now, for some reason, you think that all of a sudden because there is a curfew, they are going to all go home and watch a soccer match?

Typical of a country who is a socialist appeaser. They appeased Hitler, appeased Hussein and now they thing they can appease these street thugs. Good Luck!

The French Riots Take a Twist

News reports are coming out of France that Jacques Chirac has sent in the French Army to crush the devasting violent riots taking place in the suburbs of Paris.

Now in its 12th day, the riots have begun to spread throughout the country and into Belgium and Germany. The riots which have gotten more violent each day has claimed two lives thus far. Chirac has stated, "We must end this insanity at all costs."

Chirac ordered the 2nd Brigade Blindee to go in and end the rioting.

Once engaged, however, the French Army quickly laid down their arms and surrended to the street gangs. The gangs, not sure what to do have told the troops to sit in a field unprotected until they figure out where to enprison them.

Embedded reporter Harold La Gauche had this to say. "It was utter chaos. The men set up a fixed position on Rue de la Pesche. The hooligans went around the block and came up behind us. Such an action unheard of in the long history of French Military. As the hooligans approached us, they began to thrown stones. One hit the helmet of the trooper next to me. After one person threw a bottle, pandamonium broke out. Men were running for their lives, I have never seen so much fear. The Colonel Boulliarie valliantly took the white flag from his pocket and bravely ran in front of his men. He ordered them to put their guns on the ground and hands on their heads. Their enemies, were bewildered and humbled by their victory."

General Pierre Remoullade contacted the United States for assistance in rescueing the troops who were captured. "We have asked the United States to rescue or men, since we fear any other French troops will also surrender."

In related news, Donald Rumsfeld, US Secretary of Defense was hospitalized for complications stemming from hyperventaling due to prolonged uncontrollable laughter.

Eagles Wrap Up

A lot has happened in the past 3 days.

Saturday - Terrell Owens Suspended for the Redskins Game on Sunday Night.

Sunday - Running Back Brian Westbrook's contract is extended (About Time). The Eagles lose.

Monday - David Akers's contract is extended to 2010 with the highest signing bonus and contract for a kicker in the NFL (Well Deserved). Owens is suspended for 3 more games and told not to return for the remaining 5 games after.

Let's get this out of the way then I'll talk about the game. Terrel Owens, while an amazing player on the field, was a cancer on the team. What do you do with a cancer, you cut it out before it metastizes and takes over the entire body. While the surgery is initially painful, in the longer run, the body survives and becomes stronger. Any psychologists out there that can offer a diagnoses? He clearly needs clinical help.

Reid is a 7 year vteran coach, has coached in 4 NFC Championship games and 1 Superbowl. Someone please tell me why he did not have his best player, Brian Westbrook, on the field the final 2 plays of the game? Sure Reid says it was to have an extra blocker in, butthe problem with that is Gordon did not block, he was out in the flat?

This team needs the defense to play at an exceedingly high level that we are used to. I'm not quite sure what they are doing now, but they are not tackling, covering or defending. They are weak in all facets of defending the field.

While they actually ran the ball, a problem surfaced, lack of practice, fault the coach. Like a muscle that has atrophied, the Line has not run blocked in weeks, and it showed during the game, that they can not run block.

Positives

McNabb moved around well, scrambled a little, but not nearly enough, but did throw well. I can't recall a worm burner. The ball was spread around, not forced in 15 times to one player. Lat night I was yelling at my TV during the final play of the half, but today, I give him credit for being aggressive and trying to exploit an opening. Although, it would have been productive if his line knew to blockl an Lewis knew the ball might come his way. Fault the lack of two minute drill practice, which is ciaching.

Reggie Brown shows promise. He made a nice catch and run for a 52 yard touchdown reception.

It was really nice to see Akers back on the filed and knock one through the uprights.

Owens may very well have played his last game in Eagles Green. Let's take this time to offer condolences and reflect on why this has happened to a good team.

Mark Eckel, of the NJ Trenton Times, reports why Terrel Owens was suspended. Eckel, long a thorn in the side of the Eagles, who was once reprimanded by Reid during a press conference, is a very reliable source.

T.O.'s suspension was not for his comments about McNabb, not wearing a hated Cowboys Jersey, nor calling the Eagles a classless organization. Owens was suspended for getting in a fight with current team ambassador, and former Defensive End, Hugh Douglas. Unfortunately I don't think Hugh hit him hard enough because, Owens then challenged McNabb and anyone else in the Locker Room. Sure, the team is not playing as well as they have in the past, and McNabb is not 100%, but the team needs to always be greater than the some of its parts, and Owens ego led him to believe that he was greater than the team.

It all stemmed back to when he was injured toward the end of the season last year. McNabb made the comment, I am the captain and the ship will sail on. Noble, accurate and typical of an organization that believes in the team concept. Aggravating for Owens who believed that he was the team.

It was a joy to watch when Owens had the ball in his hand, and he is arguably the most talented receiver in the game today. However, his mouth, his piss pour attitude and his ego make him among the least coveted players in the league. He will not be remember for his heroics, making Champ Bailey look like he was cemented into the ground, connecting with McNabb for 3 touchdowns in one game, or the gallant way in which he returned after a season ending injury to play in the Superbowl, and if the Eagles would have won, most assuredly would have been game MVP for the effort he put out.

He will be remembered for spitting on an entire community who adored him. He came here in the summer of 2004 with high expectations, and delivered on every one. He had his own chant which was sung by 70,000+ proud fans at the Linc every time he caught a touchdown, and all fans wherever he went. He was god-like as throngs on raving fans paid tribute to the altar that was Terrell Owens. After all he was the savior, the Wide-Out that fans coveted ever since Reid became the head coach. He was supposed to bring us to the promised land. He had the city in the palm of his hands, and then made a fist a crushed everything this past off season. Contract squabbles, holding out and generally opening his mouth when he should not have ruined everything. Then the final fall from grace, challenging the franchise quarterback to a fight.

What does the future hold for the Eagles? The Defense needs to play at the high caliber and level at which they did against San Diego. They need to stop the other team at all costs. Reid, will hopefully go back to his base offense, including running the ball and moving around the players to create confusions and mismatches. The two young receivers, Greg Lewis and rookie Reggie Brown need to shine. If the next 3 games, all against division opponents do not go well, put McNabb on the shelf to avoid further injury.

Good Luck Eagles, an entire city is with you and offer our deepest sympathies.

I have e-mailed the Philadelphia Inquirer and will continue to do so until I get post on the editorial page and ask you to do the same. You can e-mail editor@phillynews.com. You need to include your name, phone number, permission to publish the letter and limit your letter to 200 words. The reason, The Inquirer published a letter on 11/2 from Joseph McOscar of Greenwich which is among the most vile written diarrhea I have read. I quote directly:

Could someone (pundit or otherwise)- please differentiate between the right-wing religious ideologues in this country and their counterparts, the Taliban in Afghanistan? The latter warranted military intervention because of its threat to humanity; the former gets a free pass to determine policy in this country.

Even though he used a few big words, I am going to assume that this moron used the thesaurus in Word. Is this guy serious? I did not know where to start with my letter or where to end as my mind was reeling!

I need examples of the comparisons between these American Christians and the Taliban. I have plenty of ways to contrast them.

1) Christians do not force their women to cover themselves from head to toe, force their women to ask for permission to leave the house, stone them, gang rape them or remove every option for them to get an education or a career.
2) Christians do not fly planes into buildings, bomb subways, cars, police stations, government buildings, hospitals, dance halls, cafeterias, school buses or tourist buses in the name of God.
3) Christians are taught, "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God." Not to putting the infidels to death wherever they were found (Koran 2:191, 2:244, 4:89, 5:36, 9:5, and 9:29), urging Muslims to fight the unbelievers who are close (Koran 9:123), mentioned and mandating the conquering of those relatives who opposed Muslims because loyalty to Islam overrode all other human bonds (Koran 9:23-24, and 58:22). But I forget, Islam is a religion of peace.
4) Yes, the Us invaded Afghanistan and Iraq, but did anyone notice that there have been free elections. If the US was imperialist and conquering, we would not push for free elections, run by the UN.
5) The free pass that this schmuck talks about is the fact that the electoral process in our country allowed them to have a free pass. The last time I check we elect representatives since we are supposed to be a country of the people, by the people and for the people. The only problem is that Bush is too much of a milquetoast to actually put the mandate to take this country back to a strong conservative ideal and is allowing liberalism and socialism, yes they are synonymous, to permeate this country like a fungus.

Please write The Inquirer, statements such as this can not go unanswered.

So, a lot has happened the last few days, let's see if you caught these headlines.

"Scooter" Libby is indicted for perjury and obstruction of justice, and now the Democrats want an investigation into the Iraq War and how the White House stopped resistance. Funny, I don't remember them all upset a few years ago when there was another person in the White House who was indicted on perjury and obstruction of justice. That was ok though, he only lied about adultery. In the eyes of the law, perjury is perjury. That's like being presented with two murderers and giving one the death penalty because he killed a teacher and another community service because they killed a homeless person. If found guilty "Scooter" should serve time, but Clinton should have also.

Bush grew some stones and nominated a Justice with a conservative track record. It's great to see the Democrats in arms and so upset over someone who will actually uphold the Constitution.

The President's stones quickly shrank after presenting his Bird Flu Policy. I'm glad to see that only 20 million vaccines will be available, what about the other 250+ million of us. One sure way to stop a Pandemic would be to keep it out of the country, but shoring up the borders means nothing because it might upset some Hispanic voters. We can now add Bird Flu to the list of things that can easily pass through our sieve of a border, other than the obvious illegal immigrants. What is that list again?

1) Terrorists
2) WMD's
3) Narcotics
4) Conventional Weapons
5) Bird Flu

Add them all up, you get one thing, DEAD AMERICANS. The feelings of the voters are more important though. I just want to make sure our representatives have their priorities straight. Best part of this plan, it won't help anyone for 6 - 8 years, and will cost 7.2 Billion. If Bush's wants to become known as the President to hit the $10 Trillion debt mark, he is doing a darn good job of it, and at his current spending rate will get close. Maybe he could donate an extra $40 Billion to Africa for a cushion.

Cynical, no. Fed up, YES.

In a final note 500 Iraqis were freed from Abu Grahib Prison today. The were given $25 and a Koran. They were released because they confessed their crimes, were repentant and denounced further violence. In a related story Charles Manson was released after he said he was sorry, gave a good Act of Contrition, and completed his penance of 5 Hail Marys and 1 Our Father.

I thought it was a joke too. What the hell kind of war are we fighting? The press has bastardized our military and handcuffed the troops. This is Vietnam again because the military can not do what they are paid to do, kill then enemy. Instead we let 500 future insurgents out walk out. 500 future car bombers or suicide bombers. Last I checked, the war is not over and we still have troops on the ground, and these prisoners should have remained in jail.

What the Eagles Must Do

While watching the 49 - 21 embarrassment and the ensuing Post-Game Show, I left with one positive thought, Ray Didinger really knows what he is talking about.

Here is what I took away, the Eagles will never win a championship with Andy Reid as the Head Coach. No, I'm not off the bandwagon, in fact I was never on the bandwagon. I have lived and died by the Eagles as long as I can remember, and I hope I am wrong.

Reid has been the coach for 7 seasons, and what do we have to show for it, 1 NFC Championship and a really good regular season record.

We also have a coach that still can not manage the clock, is so stubborn that he insists on calling all plays and defying football logic with his play calling, waste time outs, and does not enable his offense to conduct an efficient drive.

The results of the first 3 drives today, 3 and out, 0 yards, 9 passes, 0 completions! Why, because Reid refuses to run the damn ball. I could prepare a defense against this offense because of the mono-facet of the play calling. All you need to do is attack McNabb. The Broncos often had 7 or 8 men in the box and blitzed from all over. McNabb ended up with 2 sacks, 10 hits and 15 hurries on 34 passing plays. Nearly 80% of the passing plays McNabb was rushed or running for his life. This, however, is the result of a larger problem and why Reid has to change his coaching or leave and why R.D. is brilliant.

Because of the slowness of Reid getting the plays in to McNabb, the offense is commonly getting to the line with only a few seconds to spare. No time for McNabb to adjust to the defensive scheme and audible.

You may look at the Eagles record and say I'm nuts, but let's be honest, the NFC sucked the past few years and the Eagles were lucky. The Eagles also have a great road record, however, if you look at who they played, per R.D. they are 6 and 12 against teams, on the road, with a winning record. However of those 18 games, if they have a 100 yard rusher, they are 2 and 1.

If they Eagles would have run against Tampa Bay and Carolina, they could have won those NFC Titles. But the stubborn coach had to have his way and pass. Right now nearly 80% of all their offensive plays are passes. (No team in NFL history has been so mis-balanced in favor of the pass.) As a result, 42% of all their offense drives have been 3 and outs.

Last year was lightning in a bottle, the offense clicked on all cylinders and there was no real competition, except Pittsburgh and New England. The last few years the NFC stunk, but now that teams are improving, Dallas, NY, and Atlanta for examples, the Eagles struggle. These issues were not major problems because the talent of the players on the Eagles and lack of talented players on the opposition teams allowed them to get by. Reid now must adjust or in my opinion, be let go at the end of this season.

1) Get the plays in to McNabb with enough time for him to make audibles at the line of scrimmage. This would also result in the likelihood that timeouts would remain when they were needed most and a decrease in delay of game, false start and other offensive setup penalties.

2) Alter the game plan to increase the run percentage. Resulting in better protection for McNabb, the ability to use play action (which is a joke that they actually run this), increase in offense TOP keeping the other teams offense off the field and Eagles defense rested, and the need for defensive coordinators to prepare more.

You might think I am off my rocker to think Reid should be let go, but it has been 7 years and these same issues always come up, if the rest of the league did not suck the past couple of years, I firmly believe Reid would be someplace else by now. I am tired of him saying in his post game press conference, "I take full responsibility for that," and "We need to do better in that area of the game." You are supposed to be contending for the Super Bowl, you should be able to execute the basics of coaching a football game.

Boy, I hope I am wrong.

The Flyers

Except for stupid scheduling by the NHL which gave the Flyers the last week off, the Flyers season has been moving along nicely. Forsberg is a pleasure to watch and is a genius with the puck. Is there a goalie controversy? I'm not sure yet, but I am guessing there is bound to be one. Niittymaki and Esche can not bounce back and forth, a decisions has to be made as to whom the starter is going to be.

The Eagles

I had the opportunity to attend the Eagles game today against San Diego, and I took a number of things away.

The Defense deserved that win, and if they offense could not give it to them, then the special teams and the likes of Quinten Mikell and Matt Ware did the job. In a play along the realms of the Miracle of the Meadowlands, Quintell Mikell and Matt Ware were able to break through the Charges line and block a field goal with over 2 minutes to go. The ball bounced into Ware's hands and he sprinted 65 yards for the game winning score. Thank God he did, because I doubt the offense could have done anything.

That brings me to the stagnant offense. I am not sure what the issue is, but I know something to be sure. There were open receivers all over the field. The Chargers have the 26th ranked Pass defense and it showed, but McNabb either did not see his players or could not get them the ball to exploit them. The lack of a running game is catching up to them and Reid better get off his high horse and do something about it. He needs to stop trying to outsmart the other coaches and create a gameplan to use the strengths of the players he has, because what he is doing is not working right now.

Case in point. 3 minutes and 23 seconds left in the game, the Eagles are down by 4. It is 4th down 1 yard to go. First the punt team comes on, then the Eagles burn a timeout. The offense stays on and Lamar Gordon is in the game. This is the guy we brought in to get the tough yards. Instead of running the damn ball, Reid calls a pass play and the only open guy is Josh Parry, the freakin' fullback! McNabb over throws him turn over on downs on their own 30. Ried, in his usual post game press conference took full responsibility for that one. Not good enough, 7 years coaching and the expectation of winning the superbowl dictates better coaching. They would have been done if not for the great defense and the unbelievable Special Teams play to score.

To the defense. The Eagles of recent memory have been blessed with great defenses. From the Buddy Ryan era to now, there have been gems. The House of Pain game on Monday night in Houston, the Monday Night game in which the defense notched 9 sacks against Troy Aikman. Then, there is this game. LaDanian Tomlinson is arguably the most explosive player in the game today. He is definitely the best running back, and was riding a record tying 18 consecutive games with a touchdown. The Eagles would have none of that. The Eagles held him in negative yards up to the fourth quarter and he finished with 7 yards on 17 carries, 0.41 yards per carry! That is why this game deserved to go to the Eagles. It would have been a damn shame if they would have stopped Tomlinson and lost.

The offense better get its act together, the defense can not win every game.

John Perzel Watch

I was reminded of a Southpark episode while reading the Inquirer. It is the one where the school is voting for a new mascot, and the choices are a turd sandwich or a giant douche. They were meant to parody the 2004 election of Bush and Kerry, highlighting the idea, what is the point in voting when both choices suck.

The esteemed John Perzel, Speaker of the PA House went to an Elementary School in Pittsburgh to donate books. He left with egg on his face. He was lambasted about the PA legislature pay raise, average of a 16% increase if you forgot, and refused to answer the questions. A little girl asked him if he took a limo to the school, which he answered no. Even though, he left in a chauffeured black Lincoln Town Car with Limo Plates.

The problem is, many Philadelphia voter don't care. They'll probably generate enough votes, most likely illegally, to keep Rendell in office, and do the same for Perzel. Heck, this is the city that re-elected both a mayor who bombed his own city and another mayor that was and still is under federal investigation for corruption.

Perzel and any other person who voted for, or like Christine Tartaglione, voted against the pay raise, but used the unreimbursed voucher loop hole anyway to increase her pay this year, should be voted out of office.

Point being, I would sooner vote for a turd sandwich or a giant douche before I vote to reelect any memebr of the House or Senate that abused this raise.

Sexism in High School Athletics

Today's Philadelphia Inquirer contained a particularly enlightening article. Boys and girls are different when it comes to sports. Duh. Although they are so different in fact that a West Chester Area School board is meeting to outlaw boys playing on girl teams, such as field hockey. They are concerned because the boys have a "unfair competitive advantage " which increases the risk of injury to the girls playing the game.

One boy on a filed of more the 20 girls is a injury risk, but what about the special consideration that have been made for girls who play in boys sports. If you have a girl on a boys football team would not her risk to injury be exponentially greater since the ratio is flipped, 21 boys to 1 girl.

It is disgraceful that the school board has not been tagged for being the sexists that they are. Fairness is all that is needed, if you are going to stop boys playing girl sports then stop girls playing in boy sports. That is equality.

The Cost of Life

There is one place where I starkly differ from most conservatives and that is with abortion "rights". I do believe that abortion should not be used as birth control and should be as rare as possible. However, I do believe that the government has a limited right as to allow or dis-allow abortions. That is, the Federal Government really has no Constitutional duty to regulate abortions, it should be left to the states. What does bother me is people who hide their true beliefs. The one positive thing I can say about Bush is he is a man of his convictions, and right or wrong, he believes what he says and says what he believes. The case of the prisoner in Missouri wanting an abortion is ridiculous.

A woman found out, after she was arrested that she was pregnant. She is willing to pay for the abortion procedure, but needs the prison to provide transportation, which would amount to $350. The state of MO has a law in which the government will not pay for a woman's abortion so is refusing to pay for the transportation to the clinic to have the abortion done. Justice Clarence Thomas tried to step in and block this, but the state's Supreme Court ruled to have the prison system transport the woman to the clinic to have the fetus aborted.

You can't have your cake and eat it too. On the right, we commonly describe leftist judges as activists and rightly so when they re-write laws. In this case, the judge from MO may have done that. However, in my humble opinion, Justice Thomas should not have stepped in. This is a case for the state to decide, not an activist justice.

But lets get to the meat of this issue, if the MO governor and the people of the state of MO are so value driven that they don't want to pay for this, then make abortion illegal in your state. Don't hide behind the comment that it is too expensive to drive this criminal to the clinic. Say what you mean, abortion is wrong and we will not drive her because it is immoral, etc.

However you made this about tax dollars, so I will do the same. The bill when my son was born, nearly 3 years ago, was approx. $17,000. 350 bucks or $17,000 which would be easier to balance. Also, does the prison have the facilities to deliver a baby, if not, she will have to be transported to the hospital, tack on another $1000 for ambulatory services. So now we are looking at a difference of nearly $17,650. Not to mention the costs for child welfare to take over this child once the birth occurs. If you are worried about her running away, she is almost 20 weeks pregnant. If your prison guards can not chase down a midterm pregnant woman, you have other problems on your list. So, your money argument does not hold water with me, Mr. Governor.

If you believe abortion is wrong, than say that is reason and do something about it.

The Eve of a Million More . . .

On the eve of the Million More March, I would like to take some time to disclose the truth behind the Nation of Islam. To put it bluntly, these guys are nuts. The fact the mainstream media gives people like Farrakhan the time of day is a indication how un-American the media can be. Let's first look at some of the items the Nation of Islam is looking for.

We want freedom. We want a full and complete freedom.

No kidding, who doesn't. Are you willing to fight for it, and die for it. Would you accept others fighting for your freedom. Then why be against the war in Iraq. Sounds a little hypocritical to me.

We want our people in America whose parents or grandparents were descendants from slaves, to be allowed to establish a separate state or territory of their own--either on this continent or elsewhere. We believe that our former slave masters are obligated to provide such land and that the area must be fertile and minerally rich. We believe that our former slave masters are obligated to maintain and supply our needs in this separate territory for the next 20 to 25 years--until we are able to produce and supply our own needs.

Since we cannot get along with them in peace and equality, after giving them 400 years of our sweat and blood and receiving in return some of the worst treatment human beings have ever experienced, we believe our contributions to this land and the suffering forced upon us by white America, justifies our demand for complete separation in a state or territory of our own.

What about the suffering placed on you from black Africans? After all, it was the African Tribes who sold you into slavery and still have slavery to this very day. It might be too hot over there for your nice suits, so I can understand why you would complete blame Americans. So, no problem, we'll round up all of your former slave masters and have them provide you with some of their land. I'll organize it, they can all contact me. Wait, they're all dead? Are you sure? Yep, I double checked my old high school history book, and sure enough, the end of slavery in the US came about with the end of the Civil War, in 1865!

We want freedom for all Believers of Islam now held in federal prisons. We want freedom for all black men and women now under death sentence in innumerable prisons in the North as well as the South.

Do I really need to comment on this one?

We want the government of the United States to exempt our people from ALL taxation as long as we are deprived of equal justice under the laws of the land.

If nothing else, you have the right to get the hell out of this country if you don't like it. Why don't you exercise that right? And please take Striesand, Rosie O'Donnell, Martin Sheen and the Baldwins with you.

We want equal education--but separate schools up to 16 for boys and 18 for girls on the condition that the girls be sent to women's colleges and universities. We want all black children educated, taught and trained by their own teachers.

How could segregation create equality? Was it not Brown v. The Board of Education that determined segregation was wrong? That ruling directly leading to the quagmire and money pit the is the modern day busing system. If the schools did not have to pay so much money to bus students across town, and devoted the money to fixing up schools and hiring better teachers, maybe the education system in this country would be all the better for it.

Here is my personal favorite. This is a religious movement that renders it's teachings from science fiction. Not quite as bad as Tom Cruise and his Scientology, but I am just beginning to scratch the surface of this cult.

In an article after the Space Shuttle disaster in 2003 entitledFIRE IN THE SKY-MINISTER FARRAKHAN'S VISION-LIKE EXPERIENCE REVISITED - VOYAGE TO THE MOTHER'S SHIP, Mother Tynnetta Muhammad gives us a brief glimpse into this strangeness. I will leave you with this quote from the article, but know that I will have more to come on this one.

Philly Sports in Brief

Wow, the Eagles sucked yesterday. There was not one aspect of the game in which anyone could generate a positive. This just goes to show that eventually, you need to have a running game if nothing else than to keep teams honest. Plus, Westbrook has not played well in 2 weeks, how much is his contract squabble hanging over his head. Pay him what ever he wants, he should wear Eagles green forever.

I am thrilled that the hockey season has began. I know they are only 2 games into the season, but I am thrilled that the Flyers are on the ice again. No offense to Esche, but Niittymaki needs to be the starter. His butterfly style is more conducive to success in the new era of offense and smaller goalie pads. I also think he is quicker than Esche post to post, but that could be rust on Esche's part not playing last season. It is a joy to see Forsberg in the orange and black. He has amazing vision and passes beautifully. One can only wonder what would have happened if he was never dealt for Lindros. It was the right move at the time, but if hindsight were 20/20, there is no way he could have been traded. Forsberg and Gagne will be a potent offensive tandem in the NHL.

The Phillies finally dumped Wade. Good riddance. Rumors are that the Phillies received notices from nearly 30% of their season ticket holders threatening to leave if Wade is still around. I can only hope they bring someone from outside the organization and that person dumps Charlie as well. Although, business as usual would see the likes of Ruben Amaro Jr. getting the nod, or Mike Arbuckle, the architect of the worst farm system in baseball.

I am not a big basketball fan, but it is good to see a Philly Icon like Mo Cheeks as the coach. His knowledge and ability to utilize his players to their best abilities should make team better.

Let me take a moment to bring your attention to a typical liberal coward. Instead of using evidence, points of debate and intriguing conversation, one individual decided to make an anonymous comment in regards to my political views in one of my postings about the Eagles. The comment is as follows:

Wow, you are a really brave soul to make an anonymous comment on a blog, apparently, it is you who have no life, hopping around on search engines and spending 20 minutes on my site. GW Bush is not the person to take us in the right direction and at this point, I really don't know who is.

Fascism would be counterproductive to a true originalist since major sections of the Constitution were developed to prevent a tyrannical government. A fascist state is also one in which the military has great power. Not the case in this country since the Constitution does not allow the military to take arms on US soil except in defense of invasion from foreign nations.

Considering my previous statement, "GW Bush is not the person to take us in the right direction and at this point, I really don't know who is," it is kind of tough to be a sheep if there is no shepherd.

I have no clue. What I do know is that if Harry Reid and Charles Schummer think that she is a good choice, then she is a bad choice. She seems educated enough, and the fact that she is not a judge does not bother me.

Why is Bush being such milquetoast with this pick? Roberts was ok, conservative sure, but safe. This pick should have but a conservative fireball, not someone who legislates from the bench, which is counter to the idea of an originalist. Someone who will uphold the Constitution.

With this choice, Bush has pissed off conservatives and pissed off hispanics. There were plenty of quality choices out there, but he pulls this one out of his ass which smacks of cronieism and capitulating to the Democrats. Let's be honest, Bush does not owe the democrats anything, but he should have given the nomination to any of the highly qualified conservative hispanic attorneys or judges.

We know nothing on Miers, and that troubles me. The only stance I could find that she took was to request that the ABA change their stance on Abortion. Other than that, this is a scary choice that could backfire or be a huge victory.

I would rather have better odds. Putting the Supreme Court in the balance is like betting your life savings on one number at the roulette table. It is not worth the risk.

A lot has happened since I've been away. Gateway sucks and I would not recommend anyone buy one of their computers. While the people over the phone are as pleasant as could be, the actually system is great, the company policies are ridiculous.

The Eagles are 3 - 1 and have become the walking wounded. With a huge character win in KC. It is clear that the Eagles need to pay Westbrook whatever he wants. Forget the argument about this is how he fits into our system and he would not succeed like this in another system. He succeeds in this system and makes this system run better. The team is 12 million under the cap, pay him. The Phillies season is a severe disappointment. You can't say the season was a success and "battled" in the last month when you lose 3 games to the team you are fighting over for the wild card, and drop 2 of 3 to the stinkin' Mets in the last week.

The antiwar nut-jobs are annoying me more than ever. When will they realize that the war in Iraq is not Vietnam. We left Vietnam and communism spread a little more. We leave Iraq now and we leave a gaping hole in which the insurgents would most surely take over a create a Fundamentalist Islamo-Fascist led government. Heck, I would love to bring every troop there home now, but they need to finish the job so their comrades did not die in vain. Sure, we let a bull loose in a china shop, but that doesn't mean that we should let the store close.

Katrina and Rita were terrible, but evidenced the insanity that is the Federal bureaucracy. The poorest people in our country have been conditioned to sit and wait for the government to do something instead of doing what is right for themselves and their families. Years of walking to the mailbox for income, food stamps and everything else the government doles out made the poorest Americans helpless in the face of a tragedy. I find it funny that the administration was blamed for not moving quick enough when they told the governor and the mayor to evacuate nearly 29 hours before they actually ordered the evacuation. I also find it scary that Bush, an alleged conservative, created a government behemoth like the Department of Homeland Security, and they did nothing to secure the homeland.

The blacks in this country need to get away from the idea that everything in this country is racist and meant to keep the black man down. Instead of running around and making matters worse, Jackson, Sharpton, Farrakan and the rest of the black racists should work to actually help the people in need. There is one fatal flaw in that though. If the idea of racism actually is removed from our culture, then they are all out of a job. It is in their best interests to perpetuate the hatred in this country, not end it.

As I fight with Gateway to figure out why I need to send my entire computer to them costing over $40 for a $5 part they can just send me and I can put in myself, I will be unable to post for a while as I am really busy at work.

I'll check in when I can and view my buddies and if I can get a way from my family for a little bit to head to the desktop and do some research, I'll post when I can, but it will be sporadic until the laptop is fixed. And Gateway will get trashed here unless they wake up and do what is right.

My laptop is the 3rd Gateway Computer I bought, and I have been a big supporter of them in the past. This is just ridiculous though.

Liberal Republicans

It's funy how during the 2004 campaign Bush threw around the word liberal like it was a mortal sin to be liberal. However, he has proven to be no better than the tax a spend Deomcrats of days past. Republicans have the White House, the House and the Senate, why can't they pass laws that give support to the true conservatives that put them in office. I was one of those people who supported the Republicans because the Democrats scare the hell out of me, but I can't do that anymore because the the Liberal wing of the Republicans scare me too.

Look what the Democrats did when Johnson was President. The pushed through their socialist legislation which created the entitlement generations in this country. The Republicans had the chance to reverse that damage, but have only added fuel to the fire. I can't support a President, who calls himself a Republican, but is in the back pocket of special interests, entitlements and corporations.

What has finally gotten my ire? I am sick of these stinking gas prices. Sure, you can blame the environmentalists nut jobs and over regulation that makes it impossible to build a new refinery in this country, but there is one problem with that. The Republicans could give all those groups the finger and change the legislation and regulations to enact real change in this country, yet have chosen not to do so.

What does Bush and the Republicans do, they create a bogus energy bill, highlighted by a 14 Billion Dollar, that $14,000,000,000, subsidy to oil companies. Just what they need considering the record profits they posted in the second quarter of this year and the fourth, third and second quarters of 2004 and are projected to make in the remainder of this year and in 2006. We are already paying through the nose for gas, and now are paying oil companies again through subsidies paid for by our tax dollars. That money should have gone to us, the tax payers. The Gasoline Excise tax generated approximately 20 billion in revenue in 2000 (It took me an hour to find that number, if anyone has anything more current I would appreciate it. Makes me feel like the government is trying to hide this info.) Why not eliminate the 18.4 cents per gallon tax to alleviate the consumers? The additional 6 Billion could have been made up if they trmmed the fat off the bill. No, let's run a higher deficit by giving money to corporations that don't need it. What happened to the tried and true conservative ideology of lowering the tax burden?

I'll tell you, it is out the window along with the out of control budget and debt. I voted for Bush for three main reasons, the reduction of taxes, private social security accounts and real tort reform, and as it stands now, even though there is a majority in the house and senate, it looks like none of that will happen.

Right now, the Republicans are no better in my book than the tax and spend liberals of days past. Thanks for wasting more of my money!

Politics and War - Oil and Water

Daily Kos felt it necessary to portray the Republican lack of support for the actions in Bosnia as a way of claiming that we should not have gone into Iraq for the same reasons. Then uses a cheeseball line at the end, "Funny thing is, we won that war without a single killed in action." I would hardly call that a war, more a series of air strikes. Since we have the greatest Air Force in the world, only one plane was shot down. No ground troops were engaged in battle. No wonder there were no US Casualties.

Let's look at quotes from some of the people who supported the Action in Bosnia and are vitriolic in regards to Iraq.

Senator Joe Biden - In a speech in 1999 on the action, "Let us look at what happened. To spare you any suspense, I think we did the right thing in our seventy-eight day air campaign, and we succeeded. The war against Milosevic was of great consequence. If NATO had not acted, the results, I believe, would have been grave."

Our favorite, Howard Dean has two wonderful quotes.

- "Intervention to stop genocide which is why I supported President Clinton's invasions in, and sending of troops to Bosnia and Kosovo."
- "All the effort we went to go after Saddam, who was never an imminent threat to the United States."

So the mass graves and torture chambers in Iraq were a mirage? Kurds and Shiites being gased are works of fiction? And exactly how much of a threat to US security was Milosevic?

How about Madeline Albright who said, "What's the use of having the world's best military when you don't get to use them?"

Where was the outrage when the Chinese Embassy was bombed, an Albanian Refugee Convoy was attacked and 14 civilians were killed at the Serbian TV, and at the resulting 1500 Civilian deaths I don't remember any baby killer signs or parents sitting outside Martha's Vineyard waiting for an audience with Clinton. (Although he probably would have invited the mothers in.)

There was no UN support for this action, something the democrats demanded out of Iraq, and there was no congressional support for submitting troops in action.

What does this say to me? Reading Kos's comments and the research I did, politics has no place in war. The party out of power is going to oppose any action by the sitting president (although the democrats largely did support action in Afghanistan.)

When it comes to the security of the nation, perceived or immediate and the lives of the brave men and women in uniform. Set politics aside and being a proud American should be first and foremost.

Garbage Survey

How do Democrats get you to support them? They manipulate the facts and force you agree with them. Case in point.

Philadelphia is currently in a struggle to lose its expanding restaurant industry by removing the free market, economic pressures and instituting the illegalization of a legal activity. I am not a smoker, although I do enjoy a good cigar now and then, but am against the expansion of government regulations that could drastically change the economics of this great city. Believe it or not, Philadelphia had the most 4 and 5 star restaurants of any city besides New York. Le Bec Fin, Morimoto's, The Striped Bass and Susanna Foo's are just a few of the greats eateries the city offers. Regulation such as the City Council is proposing would cause bars and restaurants to leave the city to follow their customers outside the city.

If there are so many people that are against smoking in restaurants, then why are more non-smoking places not popping up?

But, his measure has failed 3 times, and now John Street is attempting to elicit the citizens with a bogus survey. Check out this junk survey on Phila.gov.

This just goes to show that surveys of a political nature can be manipulated to garner any desired response, especially with yes/no responses. For example, check out question #5.

5) Should we just let the FREE MARKET work? Will people go to facilities which fail to adequately protect them from cigarette smoke? This idiotic question is completely counterproductive. Yes, we should just let the free market work, and No people will not go places which would fail them. That is the benefit of the free market, morons.

It does me proud when I can evidence how narrow-minded the city's administration is. Which one of John Street's Family members got paid to create this survey?

Who Will the Eagles Miss Most?

Since the first half of the Eagles game is fresh in my mind, I wanted to make one critical point. Sure, it is the first preseason game, but the Eagles miss Ike Reese more than any player at this point. The special teams gave up a punt return and a kick return for touchdowns in the first quarter, and looked awful throughout the game. He was the heart and soul of the special teams, and an all around great guy. I liked Ike, and was sorry to see him go, and wish he was still here, but Atlanta gave him the shot to be a starter which the Eagles could not do.

On a big positive, Reggie Brown looked really good in his first game against the Steelers first team defense.

Even though it is preseason, it is nice to watch football again.

Appeasement Does Not Work

There are many on the left who claim the global war on terror is misguided, and we should appease the terrorists. Let's give them a daisy, a big hug, light a campfire and sing Kumbaya Allah.

I would like someone who believes this work one iota of historical evidence to suggest that this method work to end terrorism. One please. I have a few where it has not worked.

Everyone should now the whole Neville Chamberlain schtick from 1939 when he claimed, "Peace in our Time", by turning over the Sudetenland to Hitler. What happened? World War Two!

Let's look at the 90's. Clinton did nothing after The 6 terrorist attacks on his watch. Now, there is evidence that his Department of Defense cold have stopped 9/11. They were too worried about a PR issue though. I guess the families of the over 3,000 killed in the World Trade Center are sure glad Clinton did not get smeared any more.

Let's look at the last few days. Israel makes an appeasement and pulls out of settlements. Areas they rightfully acquired after defending herself from Arab attacks. So what does Hamas do?

First Hamas begins a power struggle with the PLO, claiming "Victory in Pushing Out the Infidels". Victory? Are you kidding me, it was a decision by the weak minded Sharon to pull out his people.

Here is the kicker. The PLO is sending troops to monitor the withdrawal to prevent Hamas from firing rockets or shooting at retreating settlers. What? You were already appeased and wish to continue killing innocent women and children as they are forced to flee their homes. Nice.

See, appeasement does not work. It will never work. What will work? Dare I say, we have to kill all the terrorists before they kill us. Is there any other way, please someone, tell me another way!

The Cindy Sheehan Saga

I don't know about you, but I am sick of this. This will not be a long post, only a poignant one, just a message to all of the left who want the President to talk to this opportunist, using her sons death to force an agenda. GET REAL!

I the President does have a "meeting" with her:

1) What would it accomplish? It won't bring her son back, and he will use the same rhetoric her has used since day one.

2) It would set an unparalleled precedent. You would have people camping everywhere wanting to talk to the President about something. Heck, I want to talk to him about why he is not pushing the privitazaion of social security, and why I need to get a second mortgage on my house to pay for gas, yet he just signed a subsidy to oil companies in his energy bill.

We're Americans, and we all have something to gripe about, but there is a limit to how far up the chain the gripe can go.

Just like the whiskey, too much TO gives me a headache. Shut up and play you spoiled, arrogant ass. I loved his play, was thrilled when he came here, but am sick at the way he claims he is doing this for his family and says the he respects the fans. If he respects the fans he would play and would have not skipped out on the autograph session at camp.

I would say for the Eagles to trade him, but I'm not sure we could get more than a sack of practice balls for him. With the shenanigans he is pulling now, who wants him. Yeah I want a Superbowl, but I'm not sure if we can win one with him here. Remember the film Full Metal Jacket, the Eagles vets should have pulled a code red on him in the locker room a la "Gomer Pyle". That may be the only thing to put his attitude in line.

Now, with Camp Owens outside his house the media should be bitch slapped too. You are playing right into hands, he wants you there, his ego needs you there. Go away, and maybe he'll get in line. To all the stupid people showing up at his house, get a life! Your presence shows support for his divisive, destructive attitude.

Finally, for a man that makes as much money as he does, maybe he needs the contract renegotiation to get Lawndoctor for his house. A house that nice and his lawn looks worse than a city ball field.

The A-Bomb and Hollywood

No this is not a post about the latest cinematic regurgitation from Hollywood, a la The Dukes of Hazard. This is a post about the Left Coast needing to shut up and stop trying to rewrite history. I think playing a president on TV gave Martin Sheen the impression that his words carry more weight now. If he would read a something other than a script he would realize that the A-Bomb saved hundreds of thousands of American and Japanese lives.

Estimates form the planners were around 100,000 American dead in the first day alone and possibly 1,000,000 dead during the fight for the island. The Citizens of Japan were ready to obey their emperor to the death. In fact the Japanese defense plan was entitled "The Glorious Death of One Hundred Million to Defend the National Polity. That's encouraging!

So then 100,000 dead from one bomb kind of makes sense then. Although, no wonder the liberals apply their revisionist history to this. Most people believe the needs of the many out weigh the wants of the few, but far liberal is just the opposite were the wants of the few take precedent over the needs of the many.

Here's my big question for the day though, why is Martin Sheen allowed to be on the advisory board of a terrorist organization? What is our country doing, I thought we were at war with terror. Sheen is on the advisory board of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. Sounds like a nice group, but Activistcash.com says otherwise.

This is a terrorist group that operates with under the guises of lawlessness. I didn't think the lefties liked such actions, what with them being against the Minutemen policing our borders. This nutjob kills people and destroys property and is lauded as a hero. The Minutemen patrol the border and call border control when they see an illegal, but they are seen as vigilantes. The fringe left is just getting more out of touch with the real American, some Democrats included, but are trying to turn us into their vegan, socialist, tree hugging, birkenstock wearing, atheistetheist ideal. I for one am sick of them thumbing their noses and telling me how I should live. That should not happen in my country.

Almost There

I found a great site for color schemes online and will add it to the link section. I want to have a first class site, and to do that, want a special look. I think the backgound is nice, not to busy but gives a touch of Philly, and could be changed to reflect my mood. Say when the Eagles win the Superbowl or the Flyers win the Cup, or when Ed Rendell loses the 2006 election. I need to get the scheme for the posts just right, something eye-cathcing, but not busy. This takes time as I am sure you are all aware, and will be done soon.

The picture in the tite, of the back of the Philadelphia Art Museum and the historic Philadelphia Waterworks, is in my opinion one of the best pictures I have ever taken, pictures of my son aside of course. It is a beautuiful part of the city not many take time to appreciate since they are to busy driving past on the West River Drive, Kelly Drive or Schuylkill, pronounced skoo-kill, Expressway.

Philadelphia is finally the best in the nation. Not in sports, or tourism. No not in fine art or music. American Center for Voting Rights has stated the Philadelphia is the best when it comes too fraudulent elections! YEAH, woo hoo.

I guess that means we can count on Jesse Jackson and John Kerry coming to town to talk about the disenfranchised voters. Not likely since it is the democrat supporters doing the dirty deeds. What happened to every vote should count? Hypocrites!

Lets look at some of the findings of this Non-Partisan organization from their 386 page report. The first 78 pages is their findings report, the last 310 is evidence including police reports and documents distributed by campaign offices. I am not even going to address things like addresses being parking lots, people voting twice using absentee ballots and showing up to vote, etc.

First I should state their comments in regards to the GOP. They found that no, I repeat NO paid operative of the Republican Party committed any heinous acts to misdirect or intimidate a voter. Individuals not affiliated with the party did attempt some misdirection, such as distributing flyers telling people to vote on Wednesday. Not a big deal, since few people would be stupid enough to fall for that, but it is wrong none-the-less. The same can not be said of the democrats who used severe tactics to not allow every person to vote. However, some made sure every person, deceased, living civilian or incarcerated had the opportunity to vote two or three times, but suppressed the military vote. Even in hotly contested Ohio, the DNC's own Voting Rights Institute stated there was no evidence to support fraud that transferred votes from Kerry to Bush.

The examples of fraud are rampant and insulting to me as an American. Any organization that supports such action should be prosecuted. Including:

A NAACP voting worker paid crack cocaine for fraudulent registration cards including the names of Dick Tracy, and Jive Turkey.

Choose to Vote paid “volunteers” for each democrat or independent voter but nothing for republican voters.

Jim Fleischmann of ACORN is quoted as saying, “Just because you register someone 35 times doesn’t mean the get to vote 35 time. . . “ What? This group is credited with thousands of fraudulent voter registrations in Colorado alone. In Florida, Michigan, Ohio and Missouri ACORN did not send in thousands of voter registrations in which the singer was registered Republican.

Moveon.org was issued injunctions and restraining orders for their intimidating tactics including: photographing Bush voters and their license plates, giving free coffee to Kerry voters, shouted obscenities to voters in the booths, which is within the 100 feet limit.

Members of the AFL-CIO broke the arm of a Republican campaign worker when he tried to prevent them from storming a campaign office. In a coordinated 20 city attack, Bush-Cheney campaign offices were stormed, intimidated and ransacked.

Cases of break-ins, theft and tampering of computers, lining a windowsill of a Bush-Cheney office with bullet casing, firing a bullet into a campaign office just name a few of the actions these thugs perpetrated.
Convicted felons voted in numerous states, and largely voted democrat. Isn’t that an interesting statistic. DNC the party of those convicted of felonies. That is a statistic that should make any democrat proud.

The Democrats, who claimed that worst of Republicans, were by far the most despicable perpetrators of fraud in the previous election. The democrats should be ashamed to call themselves the party of the people since they did more to impede fair voting than any party in American History.

- 5 DNC Operatives were charged with slashing the tires of Republican vans on Election Day. Each was paid by either the Democratic Party of Wisconsin or America.
- The Ohio Democratic Party and America Coming Together (ACT) were issued restraining orders to stop calling republican voter and giving deceptive information including telling voters the wrong locations or days to vote.
- A court injunction was issued against the DNC to stop distributing intimidating material to Republican pollsters and volunteers in Florida.

This all pales in comparison the great city of Philadelphia. Why are we the best at voter fraud, just look at recent history? Mayor Street is under federal investigation, and is re-elected. On Election Day in ’04, a number of voting booths had votes for Kerry registered before the polling places opened.

Republican volunteers were threatened throughout the city by what police called “union goons”. In one case, a republican volunteer was cornered in a parking lot, chased through traffic, and threatened. When the attorneys came in with a restraining order, their van was nearly tipped over by the thugs. Finally, the police were called in and the men where rushed away in a police escort.

Prior to the Presidential Election, the number of registered voters surged in the city, nearly matching the census estimates on the number of voting age cititzens.

The Republicans challenged 63 polling places, which was thrown out of court. 43 were inaccessible to the handicapped, what happened to the ADA the liberals love so much? One house was decorated with Kerry signs, and another was a Vincent Fumo (Democrat State Senator) district office.

Volunteers of American Coming Together (ACT) and Moveon.org where recorded coming out of Curran-Fromhold Prison ion NE Philly with boxes full of absentee ballots. It is illegal for a third party to distribute or collect absentee ballots in the state, plus a person convicted of a felony may not vote either.

Remember, Bush only lost PA by a few thousand votes. These shenanigans could have tilted the election the other way.

I hope liberals are reading this, and I hope you are proud of these organizations that represent you. You say you stand for equality and the rights of the common citizen. Yet you disenfranchise all by these actions and take away the basic right of a citizen to vote. Men and woman have bled on nearly every continent to protect that right, yet these groups stomp on the Constitution with these actions. Typical of a liberal politician to pander to the media when it suits him, but when the truth comes out, that Democrats where the best at the disenfranchisement of American voters, not a sound is heard.

I hope you are proud to call convicted felons, criminals and thugs amongst the biggest supporters of your party. You call the Bush administration Fascist, I call what these liberal groups are doing is no better than any Totalitarian Dictatorship. Hitler and Mussolini gained power through voter intimidation, and men like Saddam Hussein and Fidel Castro retained power through intimated and false elections.

I did not hear about this report in the mainstream media. Which of course I am surprised since Jesse Jackson was so intent on every person having an opportunity to vote, and every vote counting. Where is the ACLU? I thought they were non-partisan, especially since they receive tax payer dollars. Not a peep. I guess Kerry and Kennedy aren’t saying anything since they are on vacation.

This is a perfect case of typical liberal hypocrisy.

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly in Philly Sports

I am so psyched about hockey season starting in October. The Flyers signed, arguably, the best player in the world in Peter Forsberg. With the acquisition of Derien Hatcher to the blue line, the Flyers are becoming the team to beat in the NHL.

Eagles training camp has started and Terrell Owens is acting the way I hoped he would, keeping his trap shut and playing ball. However, the no show of Brian Westbrook is bad. He is an integral part of the Offense and needs to be in camp and happy.

I am done with the Phillies. They are an ugly franchise, have not made the playoffs since '93 and only once in the last 22 years. Thanks to everyone who gave me some feedback through comments or e-mails on the design. I am not a superstar designer by any means so I value your opinions. The general comments have been good layout, but to dark, so I tried to brighten it up yesterday. I was hoping to keep a whole monochromatic look but in retrospect, that may not be the best idea. I will continue tweaking the background and colors until I have a site you will all be happy to visit and read.

Some people have asked me, "If you are on the right, why are you not a Republican?" Honestly, they tend to be too liberal for me. They claim they support originalist views by throwing bones like John Roberts. But let's face facts, few Republicans are truly conservative, and when push comes to shove, they are in the pocket of the special interests, just like democrats. I would love to see a Constitutionalist take powers, but while I do not agree with the platform, I would respect a Progressive because right or wrong, I believe that either would be moving the country in a direction they truly believe is the proper direction, without the special interest garbage. Take a look at this article from the Wall Street Journal regarding the passage of the Highway and Energy Bills, at least they were supposed to have been highway and energy bills.

The pork on these bills are ridiculous.

Speaker Dennis Hastert had barely waited for dawn to break after the midnight Cafta vote before he directed the House to pass a $286.4 billion highway bill. He expects Mr. Bush to sign this because it is "only" $2.4 billion more than the President's 2005 veto limit, which is "only" $28 billion more than his 2004 veto limit of $256 billion, which was "only" a 17% increase over the previous six-year highway spending level. "Only" in Washington could spending so much money be considered an act of fiscal discipline.

Hey Dennis, the words "only" and BILLION should never be used in the same sentence. NEVER!

Tax subsidies for oil companies? WHAT! These bastards are posting record profits and are gouging the citizens with record gas prices. So let's give them a tax break without forcing them to lower prices. Good idea!

$2.5 million for freeway landscaping in California. I've never been to California, but from what I've seen on TV, it is pretty hard to beat the natural landscaping of the Pacific Ocean on one side and the mountains on the other. $3.2 million to extend the longest paved walkway in the nation for Duluth. Where exactly is it being extended to, Mexico?

In the energy bill you have $6 million to encourage people to ride their bikes. They should not worry about that since nobody will be able to afford gas soon. Thanks to a mandate that will make gas 10 cents higher per gallon with a new ethanol additive.

Over $15 Billion for home heating subsidies?" How about a tax break for everyone. If you can't pay your heating bill, move someplace warmer. Sometimes I wonder how our parents and grandparents got by without big government entitlements.

The Republicans used to be the party of of constraint, the party of small government and low taxes. But with junk like this I wonder. Imagine the debt reduction that money could accomplish, the tax relief. Bush should veto these bills until the garbage is removed, but he has yet to veto a single offering from Congress. I find that odd.

Here is an option, our railroad was top-notch, now government run Amtrak is in shambles and a majority of freight in this country is run through trucks, not rail. Rails can move more freight further, faster and us less fuel than trucks. Rebuilt the rail infrastructure and get the trucks off the road. You will reduce accidents, traffic jams, fuel consumption and emissions. There are two problems though. The first is the teamsters. Their lobby is too strong to allow such an occurrence. Even though they dole out millions every year to the democrat campaigns, they have a problem supporting its platform on the environment. Second is the not in my back yard mentality. It is funny how people are all gung-ho to say they support the environment, but say you are going to reopen the rail like that is a mile from their house, and they have a major problem. This same situation happened a few years ago in a Philly suburb when the transportation schmucks known as SEPTA tried to reopen a passenger rail line. It would have saved headaches and emissions from thousands of cars daily. But some rich suburban snobs got together and fought back with the "Not in my backyard defense" and after they won, went back to wearing their Birkinstocks and hugging trees.

I am tired of junk like this that adds to the already too high debt. Any instance of junk I find will be brought to light on this site.

Democrats Trash the Troops, Again

A number of my conservative blogger buddies have made a point to comment on this news article from the The Pittsburgh Channel about how Catherine Baker Knoll, PA's Lt. Governor, insulted a widow of an American soldier who gave his life for freedom in Iraq.

I try to keep a somewhat family oriented site, one that your kids could read, so I will avoid really typing what I think of this democrat garbage who represents this state.

One would think it respectable that she would show up at a funeral for a fallen son of Pennsylvania. However, reports are that she distributed her business card and commented that the government is against this war. Yes, at the funeral service, for a fallen soldier, nshe said to the family that the government is against the war. This made a terrible day worse for the family, and her written apology, is not sufficient. She should be made to resign for this disgrace to a Pennsylvania family.

Her actions show two things.

One is that the Rendell administration has no respect for our military and he should pay for that in the next election. He fought to not give the troops, fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, additional time to get in their mail-in ballots in the 11/04 elections, even after the mistake was the result of the PA Voter Commission. Now a member of his administration is denigrating families of the brave men and women fighting for our freedom. Rendell should no longer be Governer ofthis great state.

Second, when will the liberals realize that you can not say you are against the war on terror but for the troops. Is this situation not evidence enough that their position is bunk? The troops do not see your point of view, but they fight for your right to view that way. I won't say you can't feel that way, but I will say I think your hedge is a sign that you are a coward. Either you are afraid of backlash from those who support our country and are against terrorism, or you are afraid of being labeled a war monger by your own party. Either way, grow a backbone.

Somebody Done Agree Wit Me!

In a previous post Is You Trippin the Lefties be Heppin Me, I wrote how the San Bernadino, CA School Board will be further holding back their black students by teaching in Ebonics. I was glad to see comments from many who agreed that this was a travesty, although somewhat disappointed that no one disagreed to incite debate.

However, Project 21, a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization that has been a leading voice of the African-American community since 1992 is in full agreement that this is stupid. Hollah!

This program is called the S.A.N.K.O.F.A Initiative (Students Accumulating New Knowledge Optimizing Future Accomplishment). Sankofa is a Ghana word for, "We must go back and reclaim our past so we can move forward; so we understand why and how we came to be who we are today." Wow, one word says all that? In looking at the translation, what past are they exactly trying to reclaim? Dead Gangsta Rappers, drug dealers and pimps.

In their press release, Project 21 rightfully so claims that ebonics will not allow someone to acquire or maintain a job. Imagine this from your financial advisor, "Yo Dawg, you want the bling bling, you be needin' to put some Benjamins in dis hot jawn. Ya know what I'm sayin'"

I said it before and I will say it again, by lowering the bar for one group, you doom them to a life of failure. Project 21 member Kevin Martin says it best, "This is a prime example of what people call 'the soft bigotry of low expectations.'"

US Troops Fight Back

The Washington Times reports the left wing loops of Ted Kennedy and Daniel Akaka were visiting the brave men and women at Guantanamo Bay. My favorite line is, "Pentagon officials said soldiers criticized the harsh comments made recently by Senate Democrats." Way to go Dick! You think your words only go to appease the lefty peace-freaks that claim to be your base, Mr. Durbin.

You trash the military, call them as baby killers and the like, and throw insults at the commander in chief, and then claim you support the troops but are against the war. It does not work. The troops don't see it that way. They see you as against what they are putting their lives on the for, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. None of which will we have if we loose this war.

Drop the Puck!

I don't know about you, but I can not wait for hockey season to start again. There was a huge void after football season until baseball really started up, and I missed the playoffs.

A couple points about the strike and the NHL.

1) Like all four sports I think there are too many teams. Who plays ice hockey in phoenix, I mean let's be serious. If they would ever go deep in the playoff, you could be playing on ice when the temperature is 100 degrees outside. Also, do second tier cities like Columbus really need a team? Too many teams means a diluted product with the good players too spread out, and players who should not be playing still hang around.

2) I like the majority of the rule changes. Click hereto link to the NHL rules changes. Although the NHL would not have to go this route if the referees would have enforced the rules on the books from the beginning. The whole behind the net area for goalies is a little weird. No need to set boundaries to restrict their movements, just let them get checked like any other player. The shootout is huge and will definitely make the game more exciting.

3) I am glad to read that owners are dropping ticket prices. With the cap in place and the players taking a 24% salary cut, it is nice to see that the owners are not keeping the ticket prices inflated to line their pockets.

4) I think it is stupid to break this season for the Olympics. You are coming off a year where you did not play, and you are going to take 3 weeks off to tiptoe in a foreign country. Where are the winter Olympics this year? Shows you how much I care.

All that said, it will be great to see the orange and black take to the ice again. Go Flyers!

What are you afraid of? Someone who actually reads and rules based on the Constitution, not what he thinks the founders might have thought when they wrote the document. If you're afraid of the Constitution, why don't you finally move to Canada like you promised.

Let's look at what some of these LOSERS are saying.

The ACLU says, ""The Supreme Court has played a pivotal role in advancing freedom," said Anthony D. Romero, ACLU Executive Director. "Without the Supreme Court, the South would still be segregated, illegal abortions would be claiming thousands of lives, the indigent would have no right to a lawyer, and lesbian and gay Americans could be imprisoned for their private sexual conduct." So what exactly is Romero trying to say, that Roberts will roll back ruling of the court. Right, like the citizenry would allow that to happen. Nice scare tactic, show me some evidence.

Howard, AAARH, Dean said, ""Democrats take very seriously the responsibility to protect the individual rights of all Americans and are committed to ensuring that ideological judicial activists are not appointed to the Supreme Court. The Senate Judiciary Committee will now have the opportunity to see if Judge Roberts can put his partisanship aside, and live up to a Supreme Court Justice's duty to uphold the rights and freedoms of every American and the promise of equal justice for all." Funny, I never realized that someone who supports the rules written down nearly 220 years ago would be considered an activist. Did ever read the oath of office that a Supreme Court Justice takes it is pretty interesting, they actually take two oaths:

I, ___, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. Do help me God

and

I, ___, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will administer justice without respect to persons and do equal right to the poor and to the rich, and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties incumbent upon me as_________ according to my abilities and understanding agreeably to the Constitution and laws of the United States. So help me God.Â

That pretty much says it: Administer justice equally. He will be taking an oath that he is to do that. He also says he will support theconstitutionn, something which is foreign to a number of democrats. That could be the problem.

Let's look at some of NOW's issues. Naturally Roe v. Wade is an issue and Roberts stated that he feels it was not ruled upon properly. I'll get to why in a minute.

"While in private law practice, Roberts served as lead counsel for Toyota in Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc. v. Williams, in which he argued to limit the protections of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The case involved a woman fired after asking Toyota for accommodations to do her job after being diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome. The court ruled that while this condition impaired her ability to work, it did not impair her ability to perform a major life activity, and thus was not protected by the ADA." Actually, Sandra Day O'Connor, who the Dems consider a moderate and supported served the opinion of the court against Williams. Basically, she was a pneumatic tool operator who developed carpal tunnel, they moved her to adifferentt area of the plant and she still could not perform her job. The court ruled in favor of Toyota, and this line says it all, "There is also no support in the [American with Disabilities] Act, our previous opinions, or the regulations for the Court of Appeals' idea that the question of whether an impairment constitutes a disability is to be answered only by analyzing the effect of the impairment in the workplace." Here's the kicker, there was no dissenting opinion. Not even the liberals on the court agreed with this suit. Nice try!

So what else don't these chicks like, he is against Title IX, which is unconstitutional, and he is in favor of the 10th amendment to the Bill of Rights, this is where Roe v. Wade comes in. "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people." Overturning Roe v. Wade is not going to make abortion illegal, it will put it where it should be, in the states and with the citizenry. Since it is not prohibited and the Constitution does not expressly allow the government to act, it would and should fall to the states.

In closing, I feel I must reiterate the point, that an originalist by nature is not an activist. www.freedictionary.com defines the root word, active, as disposed to take action or effectuate change. Originalists don't want change, they support and uphold Constitution.

In the latest from the sympathetic left, The San Bernadino Sun is reporting that the San Bernadino school district will be helping the African American students in the district improve their academic performance. Yep, they are going to raise the bar, improve teaching, hold the parents accountable and make going to school a worth while learning experience.

Sure, and Bill Clinton has a chance to be President again.

No, they are going to take the easy way out. Instead of actually educating students they are taking the easy way out, by lowering the bar. "Incorporating Ebonics into a new school policy that targets black students, the lowest-achieving group in the San Bernardino City Unified School District, may provide students a more well-rounded curriculum, said a local sociologist."

Yes, Ebonics. The proud language of gangsta rappers everywhere recognized by the penultimate school district, Oakland. What's the required reading, Snoop Dogg and Fiddy Cent?

Give me a break. I am shocked to think that these people actually think they are doing right by these students. It cracks me up to read, "[School Board Member Danny] Tillman hoped the new policy would increase the number of black students going to college and participating in advanced courses."

Mr. Tillman forgets one thing. English! Colleges in the United States teach in English, and there is not single AP test in Ebonics. No credible academic university has recognized ebonics as a language other than slang.

What prominent black person in society speaks ebonics? The answer is none! So why all of a sudden do people think it is ok to speak and now teach ebonics? Because it is the path of least resistance. It is easier to lower the bar that to bring the students up to meet or exceed the bar. It is not about talking white or black, it is about talking English. While I know my English is not perfect, and I am more relaxed in my comfort zone with friends, speaking and writing English in America has gotten me far in life.

It is policies like this that make it more necessary to have a Constitutional Amendment declaring English the language of the land. You down wit dat, yo?

More Wisdom from the Hollywood Left

The Town Hall has a great article by John Leo concerning the latest regurgitation from the left coast. David Koepp, screenwriter of War of the Worlds, claims "Martian attackers in the film represent the American military, while the Americans being slaughtered at random represent Iraqi civilians."

What is this nut talking about? I didn't think that the Martians were liberating anybody. I also don't recall the Martians rebuilding schools, restoring the infrastructure, or getting murdered handing out candy to children. That's because Koepp is following the guidance of fruits like George "Only a Sith thinks in Absolutes" Lucas and Michael Moore.

I think H.G. Wells and Barre Lyndon would argue with him. For those of you who are unaware, H.G. Wells wrote the book War of the Worlds and Barre Lyndon adapted the original screenplay for the 1953 classic. Why not stand apart from the lefty fruits and say something sane like the Martians represent the terrorists and truth, justice and the American way will always triumph, or if that is too much trouble, keep your trap shut. In fact keep your mouth shut, every screenplay that is half decent is an adaptation of a novel or another movie. Koepps's original screenplays reads like the garbage outside of a third rate movie rental store: The Paper, Suspicious and Bad Influence. Can't say I remember them.

This is actually part of the problem with Hollywood, there is no originality. They follow each other lock step politically and in their lack of originality. War of the Worlds, already stated, The Bad News Bears, Billy Bob, you are no Walter Matthau, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, where's Gene Wilder when you need him. I have as much desire to go to the movies right now as I do to pour Tabasco in my eyes.

Justice John Roberts?

I like the fact that Bush picked a 50 year old, someone relatively young who could serve for a while. I also have to say I am not upset about this choice.

The Alliance for Justice thinks he is too conservative. Works for me.

RedState.org seems to like him, although they state Ted Kennedy would be ok with him. That worries me a little.

Law.com thinks he would be a fine choice. Again works for me.

I like this choice, but Justice Suter taught us that you can not determine how one would swing once they get the black rode and lifetime commission. Hopefully 5 years from now we will be saying the same things about Justice Roberts. All I ask is that the Senate keep this respectable and remember their Constitutional duty.

My World is Upside Down - France and the Muslims

France is doing the right thing, yeah and Satan is having a snowball fight with his minions? No really, I hate to admit it, but France is doing one thing in the fight on terror the US does not have the politically correct guts to do.

BBC News reports, "French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy has vowed to deport any Muslim cleric preaching violence." Why can't the US do this? Because we have a bunch of unrealistic neo-liberals that refuse to do what is necessary to win the war on terror. In fact we will never win this war if these delusional lefties realize that political correctness will be our own undoing. We have the legal means to do this since 1798. The Sedition Act just needs to be renewed and the punishments altered to include deportation. We are at war folks and it is high time we do the things necessary to win this war.

The following should be all over every newspaper, news show, news website, but since it is good news for a republican administration, I'm sure your won't see it. The Washington Post reports, that in the Muslim Nations, Bin Laden and terrorism is down and democracy is up. In research done by the Pew Research Center, the number of Muslims who see suicide bombings and terrorist attacks against civilians has dropped dramatically since the study conducted last year. Also a majority of Muslims in Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco and Indonesia believe that democracy can work in their countries and is not solely a western ideal. This report is huge news for the Bush Administration and reason to celebrate. But where are the bells and whistles, where are all the reports for the mainstream media and or the alleged conservative media. I happened across this on a search and felt it necessary to write about, since I am sure few of you heard about it.

Beyond Harry Potter

I've not read the books nor have I seen the movies. I really have no desire to, but the whole larger cultural aspect of these books is hilarious.

I was watching the news with my wife last night which showed the lines of parents and children anxiously awaiting the books sales. While waiting in line for a book is one thing, waiting in line in costume is another. Can we pleased be serious for a minute folks. While your kids may want to do this, it is your role as parents to help prevent your kids from getting beat up in school. Kids have enough reading to do in school, they should be outside playing baseball, football or classic games as freedom or ghosts in the graveyard. Instead of having outdoor fun during the dog days of summer, they are going to be walled inside their homes reading a book. Keep in mind kids, you have your whole lives to read a book, but only one childhood.

As if Greenpeace has nothing better to do, they chimed in on Harry Potter too. Let's bash the American manufacturer, and kneel at the altar of the foreigners. "If they had printed the book on 100 percent recycled paper, like Raincoast, its 10.8 million print run could have saved 217,475 mature trees." Greenpeace claims Scholastic Publishing chopped down "ancient" forests for the paper for their book. What exactly is an ancient forest anyway? I remember reading it was good to thin old growth forests to allow for the new trees to take root. Well, Greenpeace neglects to say what percentage they did use, so I hold no credence in what thit bunch of nut jobs says anyway.

Finally, is the Pope that out of touch with reality? Two letters from when Pope Benedict XIV was a Bishop shows his displeasure with the Harry Potter books. His opinion is that it would distort a child's judgment as to the lines between good and evil. IT'S A BOOK! Is it not the role of parents to set the limitations of good and evil in their own families? Are you afraid that by reading the book kids are going to turn into witches a warlocks? That's as ridiculous as not allowing kids to dress up for halloween.

To sum up, screw Greenpeace, I'm glad kids are reading but don't loose track of your childhood, don't forget to play, and the Pope needs to mellow.

As I am sitting here recovering from surgery, I am trying to figure out why I am paying so much for cable TV when there is nothing on. But I was anxious for the Space Shuttle Launch so I watched Fox News and have a couple of insights to share since there were a lot of big stories today.

The Space Shuttle

I was really hoping to be typing a post as to how great America is that after 2.5 years, we recover and are going back to space. Alas, the launch may be delayed at the worst until October because of a design flaw in the fuel sensors. Hopefully this can go off in the next few days but certainly the safety of the crew is the number one priority.

The will be a Season

The NHLPA and the Owners agreed in principle on an agreement to end the lockout and have a 2005-06 Season. I am an avid Flyers fan and can not wait for the puck to drop as well as be able to write some hockey posts.

25 Years in Jail

Bernard Ebbers, former CEO of WorldCom, was sentenced to 25 years is jail, which is essentially a life sentence since he already 63 years old. Frankly though, this is not enough considering the thousands of pensions and retirements he destroyed. Every piece of property he owns should be sold and distributed among the former employees and shareholders of WorldCom.

Finally, The Karl Rove Scandal

Funny how when there is a Republican in office the democrats think the Independent Counsel is a great idea. Though in this case, they are investigating an aide to the President, not the President himself. I think Bush is saying what he is supposed to say,basically, this is still an ongoing investigation and we need to wait to see where it leads before he makes any decision. Honestly, what else can he say. He needs to stand by his man until the all the evidence comes out.

It would seem to me that the Democrats are calling for Rove's head since it was his direction that allowed the Republicans to defeat Gore and Kerry. Still not over it Dems? Allow the investigation to go on is the proper way to go. If it comes out that Rove did leak the name of a covert CIA agent, Bush should not have to fire him. He should resign and face prison time.

I'm off to continue recuperating and watch MacGyver reruns on Spike TV.

I am a true conservative when it comes to the gay and lesbian community. No special treatment but no loss of rights either, the sanctity marriage is reserved for one man and one woman, and children should not be reared in a gay or lesbian home unless the only other resort is foster care. What I am about to show you is an absolute disgrace and one in which the gay and lesbian community should be ashamed.

This advertisement for the Philadelphia Gay and Lesbian film festival was taken from page 11 of the Tuesday, July 5th Philadelphia Metro daily magazine.

Yes, that is a baby wearing a rainbow wig. A BABY WEARING A RAINBOW WIG! Am I the only one in this world that thinks this is wrong.

Is the implication that the baby is gay?

There could have been a much better choice here to advertise this festival. Why not an adult wearing the wig? Or even a dog, cat or fish in a rainbow wig? That might be funny. If the advertisers wanted shock value, they succeeded.

This just furthers the argument that segments of the population who wish to be segegated through special treatments or entitlements are moreout of touch with the common American.

The press release stated the primary purpose of the commission is to, "encourage the development and implementation of policies and practices intended to improve conditions affecting the cultural, social, economic, political, educational, health and general well-being of the African and Caribbean immigrants, refugees, and asylees residing in Philadelphia."

No other immigrants need such assistance? Just because there are Polish, Russian, Chinese, Cambodian, Vietnamese and others coming to this city daily, they should be left to struggle and suffer on their own. The entitlement community can only be so large. This way we get'em as soon as they come off the boat so they can expect entitlements their whole life. This is the garbage typical of this corrupt administration.

The MayorÂs creation of this Commission "reaffirmed to the world PhiladelphiaÂs historic commitment to tolerance, freedom and democracy." If you say so John. This truly affirms Philadelphia's intolerance of and screwing it to other races and ethnicities and your pandering to the black community in this city.

The G-8 Screws Africa, Again

Everyone is listening to Live 8 and the G-8, but is anybody truly listening to the people of Africa. Der Spiegel has a fascinating article everyone should read. It is an interview with Kenyan Economist James Shikwati in which he says,"For God's Sake, Please Stop the Aid!"

Mr. Shikwati explains that the countries who are the worst off are the ones who get the most aid. The Aid keeps the bureaucracies and crooked leaders in place. Also, food aid is pilfered by the leaders and distributed to their tribes to strengthen support and/or sold on the black market. He further explains that the AIDS epidemic is a huge exaggeration designed to illicit additional funds. A favorite quote of mine from the article is, "Millions of dollars earmarked for the fight against AIDS are still stashed away in Kenyan bank accounts and have not been spent. Our politicians were overwhelmed with money, and they try to siphon off as much as possible. The late tyrant of the Central African Republic, Jean Bedel Bokassa, cynically summed it up by saying: 'The French government pays for everything in our country. We ask the French for money. We get it, and then we waste it.'"

Donations of food undercut the African Farmers, donations of clothes eliminate the African tailor. Africa has vast resources of gold, diamonds and oil, but because of the corrupt governments supported by Western Aid, the money from those industries does not get directed to the populace who needs it most.

"If they really want to fight poverty, they should completely halt development aid and give Africa the opportunity to ensure its own survival. Currently, Africa is like a child that immediately cries for its babysitter when something goes wrong. Africa should stand on its own two feet."

This case is further evidenced by a second Der Spiegel article Choking on Aid Money in Africa. The chart in this article evidences that the countries most in need of debt reduction are the countries who receive the most aid from the west. Read than again if you need to. One would think that giving aid would assist a country. However, the aid has made these countries too reliant on foreign funds. What happens in these countries if the they can no longer suckle from the fat pig of the West? This revolving door must close, and as Mr. Shikwati stated, "Africa should stand on its own two feet."

If they really want to help Africa, help them convert the raw materials into usable goods. Send or experts to their countries and teach them the ways of farming and industrialization. Give a man a fish, he will eat for a day, teach him to fish and he will eat for a lifetime. By sending money, we are giving these nations the proverbial fish. It is time we teach them how to fish.

No, this post is not going to be a call to pull or troops. That would be cowardly and display to the terrorists that they can win and spread their Islamo-Facism around the world unfettered.

First let me say, may God be with the people of Great Britain during this difficult time. My prayers and I am sure the prayers of many Americans are with the families and loved ones of those who have died and are injured.

Among my first thoughts is that these cowards made a grave mistake. The people of Great Britain are not like those of the Philippines or Spain, they have strength. They have the blood of their parents, grandparents and great grandparents running through their veins. Men who fought valiantly during Battle of Britain, out numbered in aircraft nearly 4 to 1, yet arose victorious. They survived the fire bombing and the V Rocket attacks by the Nazis with a greater resolve toward victory. They will not back down, and if anything will be even more vigilant in this fight against terror. Thank you for standing with America, we now stand with you!

We live in a country where our airport security does not search people of obvious Middle Eastern decent because of profiling. Their civil rights might be violated. Michael Smerconish, a Philadelphia radio talk show host and author of Flying Blind, had a show yesterday morning at the US Constitution Center. There he brought citizens to describe their turmoil at airport check points. Common sense must reign the day. Would you logically search an elderly woman whose grandson has Cerebral Palsy? Would you make an American soldier in full uniform strip and take off his boots. Military issued boots have a steel shank! No, you would not. But the ACLU and the activist liberal judges ruled that the airport security can not profile.

Am I missing something? All the 9/11 hijackers had one thing in common that would cause them to be profiled and maybe not allowed on a plane, train, or bus. Guess what that would be? They were all from Middle Eastern men.

I am tired of hearing that Islam is a peaceful religion. If it is so peaceful, please show me the evidence. All I hear is “Allah is Great” followed by “Death to America”. I would love to be wrong on this point, really I would. However the attempted spread of Islamo-Facism through the scare tactics and murder of innocent men, women and children is continuing to show that I am not wrong. Sure, there are other terrorist organizations like PETA and the Earth Liberation Front, but I have yet to see them strap a bomb to their bodies and run into a disco, or drive a car bomb into a full school bus. Should I run a quick list: Al-Qaida – Muslim, Hezbollah – Muslim, Taliban – Muslim, Hamas – Muslim, Yassar Arafat – Muslim, Osama Bin Laden – Muslim, Al Zaqwari – Muslim. All are responsible for the murder of innocents, and all Muslim.

It is time for the government to truly fight the war on terrorism. Hunt down the Islamo-Facists in this country, not just the ones hiding working in McDonalds, but the Imam's who preach hatred and Death to America on American soil. They should all be deported under the Sedition Act of 1798.

We are fighting a war here folks, and it is not a war for foreign land, it is a war for our survival and the continuation of the values we hold most dear: Liberty, Justice, and Freedom.

Enjoy the barbecues and the fireworks. Please be safe, don't drink and drive, and if you light your own fireworks, be smart, careful and considerate. For some reason, it was determined that it is now legal to sell and use fireworks in PA. While it may be fine in the PA hinterlands, Philadelphia is the typical densely populated city, and too many morons are lighting fireworks near too many houses and late into the night. My son usually goes to sleep around 9:30, but the past few nights have had him go down well later due to the fireworks. Setting off explosives at 11:00 is not the most neighborly thing you can do.

Remember why we celebrate this day, and if you are unsure, pack your bags and move to Canada.

Heroes in Philadelphia and the Live 8 Sham

No, this is not your typical post about Live 8, although I will get to that later.

The real heroes were located at Penns Landing. Nearly 3 miles away from the Live 8 Concert, the brave men an women of the Guided Missile Cruiser USS Cole were docked in Philadelphia. I had the opportunity to bring my son to see a true piece of history. While he is only 2 years old, one could see the awe and wonder in his face standing beside this massive display of America's strength.

Do you remember October 12, 2000? The USS Cole was attacked by Al-Qaida Terrorists while refueling at port in Yemen. (This was the SIXTH terrorist attack against the United States during Clinton's term, but he was too busy getting hummers in the Oval Office to bring those responsible to justice.) 17 brave men and women lost their lives in service to their country and another 36 were wounded because of this attack. However, in November of 2003 the USS Cole returned to duty in defending the country from aggressors.

On the other side of the city, over 1 million people turned out to hear the liberal propaganda machine at its best. Sure why not forgive the debt of the African nations? Because it costs money! Whose money? The citizens and taxpayers or those countries who forgive the debt. It must have been easy for these multi-millionaires to sing few a songs telling the average hard working person what should happen with their money.

It is naive of Geldoff and his cronies to think that the forgiveness of a few Billion dollars will bring these countries out of poverty. If anything, it will only serve to strengthen the stranglehold the dictatorial regimes posses over their people. If they don't have the debt to repay, you can bet the warlords will buy more weapons or mercenaries to plunder the land and enslave their people. Wholesale governmental reforms must occur before any changes in Africa can occur.

Finally, is any more proof needed that the Hollywood Left are a bunch of socialists. Ending world poverty is a noble cause, but can never exist in a capitalist system. Capitalism is not a perfect system, but it is the best system we have. There must be haves and have-nots, employed and unemployed in capitalism. Full employment is calculated at 4%, because the system would collapse if there was ever 0% unemployment.

If relieving the plight of these nations is so important, why don't the artists take some of their royalties out of the tax shelters and put it where their mouth is and send it to the nations they pretend to help.

I am sick of sending my hard earned money over seas and am against foreign aid, especially when we have so many problems of our own.

The founding fathers created the Constitution, "For ourselves and our posterity. . ." That does not include citizens of foreign nations.

Let the Fight Begin

Sandra Day O'Connor announced her retirement today, and Arlen Spector was seen buying boxing gloves at a down town sporting goods store.

This is going to be a battle for the ages. The liberals feel they have some kind of higher mandate since they are the minority in both houses of Congress. Yes, I said that correctly, since they are the minority they feel they can break from senate tradition and hold up government for an undisclosed time in a possible filibuster. This time, I hope the Republicans let them do it. A Supreme Court Justice nomination will garner much more news coverage than did the previous appellate bench nominations. Good, let the Dems look like obstructionist. They did it before the civil war, and during the civil rights legislation debates of the 1950's and 60's.

Bush's recommendation will probably be similar to Day O'Connor. A centrist with a conservative slant, but what this court needs is a hard line originalist to balance out the far lefties already on the court. I fear that Bush does not have the stones to do that though and it will be business as usual on the beltway.

Presidential Address

Remember all the lefty, tree hugging birkenstock fruits who were against the "War for Oil". Where are they now? If they can change their reasons for the war why can't the president?

On a more serious note, the president was correct on three major points in his speech I must address.

1) There has not been an attack in the US since 9/11. That could be for one of two reasons. It takes a number of years for the terrorists to plan the attacks. Or, because of our attacks, the terrorists are concentrating on fighting our troops in Iraq as opposed to fighting us in our homeland. I would like to believe the later be fear the earlier statement. With such porous borders and our concentration elsewhere, an attack may be likely. I pray not though.

2) Leaving Iraq now would be detrimental to the stability of the region and an insult to the brave men and women who already gave their lives in this struggle. If we leave now, the Iraqi forces are not strong enough to defend their country yet, the terrorists will surely overtake the land and create another Taliban state.

3) Honor our men and women in uniform. Too often I hear the people against the war, "I am against the war because I support our troops." That makes no sense to me. If you support the troops, you need to support the action in which they are currently involved. Let them do their job to finish and get home. That means stop supporting the enemy by asking for the closure of Gitmo, and demanding a military tribunal every time a troop sneezes. The media needs to back off and stop reporting all the negative. It is time to report the positive and give the country at large a reason to cheer.

Colin Powell is stating as telling the Bush Administration before the Iraq War that Iraq is like a china shop, you break it you bought it. It would seem that Bush broke an entire cabinet, but I support his decision to go to war because I love this country and despise all those who would wish it harm, either domestic or foreign. I also have utmost respect or our men and women in uniform and pray for their safety and a swift end to the mission so they may return home. May God's graces shine upon them all, and may God bless America.

Supreme Court Says What?

In a ruling today, the highest court in the land decided to state that it is ok to have public displays of religion, or did they rule it was not ok to have public displays of religion? I was pretty confused by this one, and since I am not a constitutional attorney I am not going to delve too far into this one.

Here is my problem with the rulings. Why do the courts continually present the idea of "separation of church and state"? No where in the Constitution do those words exist. The First Amendment does state the congress shall make no laws establishing a religion nor prohibit the free exercise of religion.

That amendment was created to avoid the creation of an American church, similar to the Anglican Church of England. How exactly is having a Ten Commandments listed in a court room a violation of that clause. The court is merely identifying the building block of American laws.

By having such religious items removed, if anything they are prohibiting one to freely exercise his or her religion.

These rulings are establishing the creation of an American religion. Or should I say the lack of religion. By removing every item of Judeo-Christian law, images and texts from our society, the liberals are establishing the rule of Atheism in our country. If these ruling continue the God who sheds his grace on us will turn his light on another nation. If God is not on our side, then who is!

Microcosm of a Season

The Philadelphia Phillies followed an 11 - 1 home stand with a 3 - 8 drop-off, the culmination of which was a sweep at home at the hands of the Boston Red Sox. Not only did the Sox embarrass the players on the field, the Sox fans over took Citizen's Bank Park. Since the Phils are so awful, hometown fans could only nod their heads at the insults spat by the visiting fans.

The final game of the series sums up an entire season. They stunk in the beginning going down 7 - 0 at one point. The middle was the big tease, they actually came back tied it at 8 all. Just like the tease of the previous home stand. Then, when they really need to hunker down and get a win, they fall short and don't have their "best stuff".

Or could it be the current manager is the biggest moron in this town since Rich Kotite. Did anyone else notice that it took the manager to get ejected for the Phils to come back?

Liberals For the Common Man?

I thought liberals touted themselves as supporting the common man, the working Joe, the guy who strives to own a piece of America. Not big business. After all, wasn't it the Bush tax cuts them supported big business, not the average hard American? Until Thursday that is, when in a disgraceful decision that wreaks of the worst of dictatorships and tyranny, the Liberal members of the Supreme Court sided with big business.

The liberal members of the court, including one out of touch Justice Kennedy, gave the ok for cities to kick you out of your home. Not to cure blight, not to create a highway, but to support businesses. As in the case of New London, CT, the city is stealing people's property to but an industrial park for Pfizer and a shopping mall. I/m, sure jus what the citizens of New London really want.

I can only imagine the following diatribe:

Mayor Street: calm and monotonous as usual "We will be taking your property to build a Wawa. It is important for the city to have a Wawa on every street to make getting that morning coffee easier and to provide jobs for all the young people in the city. We will also be taking your neighbor's house to build a Commerce Bank. They are the nation's most convenient bank and we think that having one on every corner of the city would truly make that the case." aside Plus they are giving me $50,000 for every new bank they build in the city! Talk about pay for play! Ha Ha Ha

Of course we all know this will not happen in Philadelphia thanks to the incredibly high business "privilege" tax. What business wants to move here?

I digress.

This action by the liberal, or should I say Stalinist, members of the Supreme Court is detrimental to the fabric of America. America has always stood for private ownership and the protection of one's homestead. The Preamble to the Constitution states the role of the More Perfect Union should be to "promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity. . ." Whose welfare is protected by this action by the court? Oh yeah, a multi-billion dollar corporation. Whose liberty is more blessed? Right, the new Abercrombie and Fitch that will be built where Johnny Jr.'s playground once stood.

Kathleen Sullivan, Head of Quinn Emanuel's Appellate Practice, "The decision made clear that what constitutes a public use of private property is a question better decided by local governments than federal courts." While I agree with that statement to a degree, this ruling does not address public property, this is a commercial development.

This ruling gave local governments the ability to remove people from their homes without discretion. It was Lord Acton who said, "Absolute power corrupts absolutely." Giving this power to already corrupt city governments will lead to the continued loss of liberties by the citizens of this great nation.

Those Evil Republicans?

Remember the tax cuts from a few years ago, you recall, the tax cuts that would only benefit the rich? Guess what, those tax cuts actually helped the poorest Americans.

Netscape.com reports, "Fully 32.4 percent of Americans paid no taxes at all for tax year 2004, up from 25.2 percent in 2000, according to a new report from the Tax Foundation. Before you start screaming about the rich shirking their fair share of the federal tax burden, know this: The people who don't pay taxes are primarily low-income, young, female-headed households who work part-time and are beneficiaries of the $1,000 per-child tax credit or the Earned Income Credit.

"Tax Foundation economists say that the 32.4 percent who pay no taxes after they took advantage of perfectly legal tax credits and deductions translates into a record 42.5 million Americans. But it doesn't end there. Approximately 15 million individuals and families earned some income in 2004, but it was so little they didn't have to file a tax return. That brings the total to 57.5 million who pay nothing. And we're not done yet. One tax return often represents several people so when the dependents are included in this no-tax sum, it amounts to roughly 120 million Americans or 40 percent of the U.S. population. And that doesn't count the millions who paid just a very small amount in taxes."

Here's the problem, even though it was the republicans who empowered these people with more of their own money, what are the odds that anyone will give the Bush Administration any credit for assisting all Americans with his tax cut. These are the people Democrats target with their entitlements and payoffs. Naturally they won't give the conservatives their due for truly helping those most in need by letting them keep more of their own money! Its time the lower classes truly learn who is working for them. Not a party of handouts and entitlements, but the republican party, who let's you keep more of your own money to use as you see fit.

This should be a lesson to all Americans in the next elections, you can keep more of your own money, lower corporate and personal income taxes, and as my previous blog stated, increase revenues and lower the deficit. All the dooms-dayers and nay-sayers should give credit where credit is due.

Reparations Primer #1

Fortunately, city council voted down Goode's request for reparations by banks. By one vote. Thank God!

I recently began occasionally listening to 900am calling themselves the "Voice of the City". My question is, the voice of what city? Just like people that disagree with Howard Stern or Rush Limbaugh but listen to them anyway, I am very curious about how a group with differing opinions sees city, national and international politics. All too often conversations revolve around reparations and what the government and businesses need to or should do to compensate blacks today for slavery. There is no voice in this city and a minimal voice nationally for groups against reparations.

I will be doing a series of posts to cover the current state of reparations. If reparations are given, the net result will be purely negative. Nothing good can come from the government doling out money to a specific group of people for a legal institution that ended 140 years ago.

What are reparations?

Merriam Webster Online defines reparations as, "The act of making amends, offering expiation, or giving satisfaction for a wrong or injury, something done or given as amends or satisfaction."

H. Khalif Khalifah of the National Black Reparations Alliance states "Reparations is the payment by a criminal to heal the injury that he caused in the commission of his crime."

I can agree with both statements in principle. Take a look at the Enron situation. The leadership of that failed company should be required to sell everyone of their possessions and close every account to be turned over to those people who lost their retirement.

Mr. Khalifah states that reparations are paid by the criminal. Who is the criminal? Those people who owned slaves are long dead, as are the victims of slavery. Is the criminal the slave owners or the tribal leaders in Africa who sold people into bondage? What a crime committed? I will explore all of these points and more.

Let me first address my question of was a crime committed. Slavery is wrong and should not have been allowed. Today, slavery is a crime, both in our own country and internationally. However, it was not until the end of the Civil War that slavery was made illegal. You can not say the government is the criminal. The US Constitution states that you can not be held liable for a crime that occurred before actions made it illegal. The state of New Jersey passed a law outlawing the use of a cell phone while driving. Is the state going to go back a ticket everyone who previously drove in the state with a cell phone? No, that is illegal. So how can the government be held liable for something that was not illegal when it occurred?

It was the culture in Africa at the time, and is still part of the culture today to have slaves. Tribal leaders, warring factions, and fighting nations all capture their enemy and hold them as slaves. Without the ability to acquire slaves through those people, slavery could not have been supported. Because of liberal slanted American History classes, people today have this idea that Dutch or English slave traders roamed through the African serengeti taking people from their homes. That was not the case. The slave traders traded for the slaves in Africa then sold them in other countries.

Benefits of Tax Cuts

Not only is there more money in my own pocket, but apparently there is more money in the government coffers as well. Yahoo News reported today that the government broke the one day record for tax receipts collecting $61 Billion in one day. Crushing the old record of $56 Billion. The deficit is also going down:

The government's coffers have been swelling this year as tax receipts from both individuals and corporations have been on the rise, reflecting an improving economy. Because of those increases, this year's federal deficit is expected to fall to around $350 billion, down from the $413 billion record in dollar terms set in 2004.

I still think government is too large and that cuts in government spending are needed to subside the deficit and allow the continued reduction of taxes. This however is a good sign that the economy is strong and the tax revenues are increasing.

Reparations - Not So Goode

As if it were not difficult enough to conduct business in Philadelphia, with the highest city wage tax in the nation and the so-called business "privilege" tax, industry continues to find new reasons to house their businesses outside of the city borders. Then comes councilman W. Wilson Goode Jr., son of the infamous Mayor Goode whose budgets nearly bankrupted the city, who bombed and torched an entire city block, and was re-elected. Goode Jr. believes that any bank in which the city deposits money should not only apologize if they took part in slavery, but now, with Council Bill 050615 that bank should also list detailed reparations made to African Americans.

Mr. Goode's current victim is Wachovia Financial. The following quote is taken from a press release by Peter Flaherty of the National and Legal Policy Center.

"According to the report, Wachovia merged with, acquired or absorbed some 400 banks since 1781. A total of two banks were identified as having transactions involving slaves prior to the Civil War, which ended 140 years ago. The Georgia Railroad and Banking Company owned 162 slaves and the Bank of Charleston accepted 529 slaves as collateral on loans.

The Wachovia statement reads, in part, 'We are deeply saddened by these findings. We apologize to all Americans, and especially to African Americans and people of African descent.'"

This action is a disgrace on numerous levels and reparations will be discussed on a future blog. That's the great thing about capitalism Mr. Goode, if you don't want to do business with a particular bank, find another one, there is one on nearly every corner in Center City.

I have contacted Mr. Goode's office and requested to know why he has introduced this bill. I need to know why prices may increase to cover reparations especially when I nor my ancestors had nothing to do with slavery. I will persist until I have an answer I can give on this site. I urge you to contact your councilperson to vote against Bill 050615.

$7.5 Million Mistake

Mike Lieberthal, the mediocre at best Phillies catcher, who makes a whopping $7.5 million this year and again next year, made a crucial mistake in last nights game. In the second inning with the Phillies up 2 runs, and with ONE out, Jimmy Rollins flies out to left field. It should have been a routine play except for the fact that Lieberthal took off from second like there were two outs, so he was doubled off! Even the worst little league player does not make that mistake, let alone someone whose job it is to know how many outs there are. Heck when I played softball, the first and third base coaches would tell the runners. Jeez, Lieberthal could have looked at any of the numerous scoreboards around the stadium to find out how many outs there were.

I know the Phils are on a good streak now, and I am happy and want to see them win, but it are the little things like this that make me believe the Phils will end up tearing out our hearts like they have done in all but 8 seasons in their over 122 year history.

Premier Hillary?

This is the first in what I am sure will be a large number of Hillary Clinton comments. Part of me wants Hillary to run for president just because it will make posting this blog so easy. The other part of me is scared that there are enough people out there who would actually vote for this Socialist Party Candidate.

Fox News quotes Hillary stating "There has never been an administration, I don't believe, in our history more intent upon consolidating and abusing power to further their own agenda," she said of President Bush." REALLY?!?

The abuses by the the Clinton Adminstration would use up all the available memory on this blog. But let me highlight a few of the better power grabs by Slick Willy and Premier Hillary.

1) Sold military secrets to China for funds to solidfy the presidential run in 1996.
2) Hundreds of last minute executive orders and pardons for anyone who would pay up.
3) Carpet Bagging move to a county in NY state in just enough time to run for the senate.

Islamo-Fascist Hypocrisy

The news in recent weeks has been inundated with reports of abuse of the Koran by US troops at Guantanamo Bay. This caused numerous detractions by Newsweek and an investigation by the US military structure resulting in relatively mild accidental incidents concerning of the Koran. What is most disheartening is the number of riots this caused in the Muslim world, including the death of 17 people. So what is worse, accidentally kicking the Koran, or blowing up a mosque, during a religious ceremony, with hundreds of Muslims, and their Korans.

I can't figure this out. If a US troop were to put an M-80 in a Koran and threatened to blow it apart as part of questioning, that would be wrong. But destroying a holy structure, killing dozens of Muslims, and burning numerous Korans is ok? This just shows the hypocrisy and danger that is built into the Islamo-Fascist Movement.

The good Muslims do not speak out loud enough against these movements. The Imams are either in bed with the terrorists or they support the terrorist by not standing up against them. I believe the only way we will see a true change in the Muslim world is when the leaders within the religion stand-up and denigrate those who continue to do the religion the most harm. If Islam is a peaceful religion, as the media tells us, and I would like to believe, then it is time for those men and women of peace to stand up and fight for their religion.

Will the real Philadelphia Phillies please stand up?

Is this a tease or has the team finally come together as expected over three years ago?

The Phils recently swept the SF Giants, but should that be an indicator of this team's ability considering the Giants are awful. The offense has been effective, even without Thome in the lineup. The starting pitching has been the best in years, but the middle relief is still a big question. If the relief pitching turns out to be the down fall of this team, it just furthers the case that Ed Wade is a completely inept GM. He let two of the better relief pitchers or this team go for nothing in the of season.

I want the Phils to succeed and win, but Ed Wade needs to go and if the Phils do win this year, the likelihood of that happening will be slim.

NHL I miss you!

A spring without Flyers playoff action has really made me long for the dropping of the puck.

I have a real beef with local sports channel Comcast SportsNet. While the NHL has not played a game, the Flyers AHL affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms are up 1 game to 0 in the Calder Cup Championships. One game of the entire playoffs has been aired. Why! I would absolutely love to watch hockey in any form right now. If if the second rate sports cities like Columbus, Nashville or don't feel like dropping some coin on quality players, then get out of the league. The strike can not continue past the summer, I need Hockey this fall.

Stop Illegal Immigration

A news report on Yahoo.com outlines Condolizza Rice's speech regarding the US concerns of other nations who fail to prevent human trafficking. Human trafficking is a terrible occurrence and should not happen anywhere in the world. Why are we sending 96 million dollars to other nations to assist in preventing human trafficking when our own borders leak like a sieve. First of all, 3 nations on the list are Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the UAE. I hardly think they need our money! Second, Thousands of people illegally cross the Mexican American border daily. Whether they are going to work, drug trafficking, looking for welfare, or terrorists, our government must start to be concerned with our own national security. Of course, there are legislature who believe the solution would be to give special work passes, or even driver's licenses to illegals. Since when can our government support an illegal activity with a legal one? When people are pandering for votes, that's when. If we give them licenses since there is the motor-voter law, what's to say they could not vote? The sovereignty of our nation will be subject to how many illegals can cross into the most populous states, TX and CA, and control the vote. Maybe that's why Vicente Fox gets ticked off every time we try and control our borders . Is there a Mexican conspiracy to take back the land the US won after the Mexican American War?

It is time for the US to stop dropping money to every nation and worry about ourselves. I propose a 60 foot electrified steel fence dug 30 feet into the ground and extending 30 feet up. That would stop it! It is also time for the ignorant state and federal legislature to work to stop illegal immigration instead of pandering to it. What is it going to take. A terrorist crossing the border with a dirty nuke, renting a car using a driver's license he legally obtained?

Philly's Finest at Work

Tonight, in my attempt to make this a worthwhile blog, I headed downtown to get some pictures of the beautiful Philadelphia Skyline. Unfortunately, I was sidetracked at 8:00, as a witness for a hit and run accident.

A woman was changing lanes and did not see the car that would crush her door and send her to the hospital. As I pulled to a stop, he sped away. Fortunately, I was able to get the make, model and a portion of the license plate. After a call to 911, two fire engines, and ambulance and a police car were at the scene with 2 minutes. 90 minutes later, I gave a statement to the police and was able to go. I had my son and wife with me and really could not do what I wanted to in regards with the skyline, but I was able to get some pictures of the brave men of the Philadelphia Fire and Police Departments using the jaws of life and nearly every tool in their arsenal to free the driver.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital. On a positive note, the police found the car that fled the scene and were searching for the driver.

Memorial Day

While you are enjoying your cheeseburger, or the sunny day at the beach, or tofu burger for the PETA members, please don't forget the real reason why you have the day off from work.

Memorial Day began in 1868 by a General John Logan with General Order Number 11 with the original purpose to decorate the graves of those fallen men during the Civil War. The remembrance grew to cover those men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country in all wars. In 2000, Congress enacted a National Moment of Silence at 3:00 on Memorial Day.

Whether or not you agree with the current War on Terror, men and women serving our country will be in fox holes, tanks, ships at sea or jets in the sky protecting your right to agree or disagree and express your feelings either way. Spend a few moments to honor those who gave their lives to create and build this country. If you see men or women in uniform, please thank them. They are the reason you can sleep at night without fear from foreign forces.

Good Riddance

Gregory Scott Johnson's life was ended by lethal injection at 12:28 am on May 25th. Why should I care considering my support for the death penalty? Because this waste wanted to atone for his wrong doing by donating a portion of his liver to his sister who has been diagnosed with non-alcohol cirrhosis. This has been a big deal with the media and the do-gooder lefties saying he should be granted a reprieve to be able to donate. What they neglected to bring out was that Mr. Johnson has hepatitis B and is too fat to be a viable donor. Since hep. B is a disease of the liver, what would make anybody think that it would have been a good idea for him to donate?

The final blow is that, before his sentence was carried out, Mr. Johnson wrote, "There are those who claim that Debbie will have a new liver three weeks after being placed on the list. I'll be watching from above and expect her to be recuperating at that time." I hope his sister does receive her surgery and lives a long happy life. However, I highly doubt this criminal will be with the heavenly angels for beating and stomping an 82 year old woman to death, and setting her home ablaze in an attempt to conceal his heinous act.

Russian President Vladimir Putin criticized the Western Allied bombing of Dresden during World War Two stating that civilians should not have been targeted in this way since there was no military reason for the bombing. What exactly was the Soviet's military reasoning for the rape and murder of thousands of German citizens after the fall of Berlin? What was German's military for the use of the non-guided rockets against England? It is this type of Euro-Hand Holding that continues to make me believe that we are among the few sane nations let in this world. WW2 was a gruesome period in world history. It was the only major modern war in which civilian areas were considered viable military targets by all combatants. Dresden, London, Leningrad, Tokyo, Singapore, the Philippines and many others were all victims of their attackers. Why exactly would Mr. Putin choose such an item during an interview to a German Newspaper regarding the commemoration of the end of the war, if not to be divisive and continue to separate himself from the US. MSNBC.com states, "Putin said the civilian population in Germany had suffered greatly during the war but said it was not the Soviets’ fault." You may be right Mr. Putin, but neglect to comment about the thousands of women that were raped in Berlin after the war, and you conveniently fail to recollect the nearly 45 years of tyrannical rule in East Germany after the war. When will our President realize that Putin and the other socialist European leaders are not our friends? Their best days will always be history, but if the US is not careful, we too will read about the past greatness that was America.
